Did a little Ronde van Vlaanderen recon today. Stumbled upon this fella, who really wanted to have a picture with me. In return I asked to grant Wout van Aert the victory. Let's see if it works out Sunday.

You shouldn't meet your heroes, so we'll see if he can recover from this.

You didn't complain about Herregodts not being selected?

Spotted on the Koppenberg today:

  • 12.33h The guys from INEOS open the debates: Turner, Sheffield, Tarling and Watson in the British national shirt.
  • 12.37h Uno-X is there, with Jonas Abrahamsen gapping his teammates.
  • 12.40h Two boys from UAE are going fast. Tadej Pogacar in his rainbow jersey is low on the bike, with a high frequency and a concentrated look. Antonio Morgado, the only one who stays with him, looks ready for an important task on Sunday.
  • 12.41h After a few riders from Cofidis follow three more from UAE, including F. Vermeersch and Politt.
  • 12.42h EF is there with Asgreen ahead of a group with Valgren.
  • 12.47h Pinarello
  • 12.49h Movistar
  • 12.55h Jayco
  • 13.08h Total Energies
  • 13.15h Burgos

It's fun to watch this two days before the race. You see cycling tourists crawling up the climb, some faster than the others. Some have a good cadence, others don't make it to the top. An older lady goes pretty fast, but she's on an e-bike! When a pro team appears there's always a bit of excitement and you try to recognize faces during those ten seconds you get. Ah, but Sunday I'll just watch it on television.

Not surprising that Burgos were last.

Well, that's one way to introduce your team:

No Time Lords on the team.
That promo (the 14 legs part) has a weird ring to it. Reminds of a picture I saw of a billboard in the 1970s promoting the (then) Oakland Warriors NBA team. The gigantic image showed the players just from the waist down in the short shorts of that era. The text read “We’ve got ten guys with great legs who can go all night long.” :). The sexual innuendo was obvious as was their target audience: women.

He said it last night in a talkshow when they asked his weight. So not heavier.
Thanks mate. Same weight as usual.
I'm thinking about his data in SB. He improved 40 watts in 2 years (from 2024 to 2026) if those numbers are reliable. 380 watts during 2 hours. Relative Power= 5.76 w/kg

Someone knows MVP's weight?
If his weight is 75 kg, this dude did 5.95 w/kg during 90 minutes.

Not surprising that Burgos were last.
If Euskaltel racing De Ronde because it was mandatory when they were a WT team wasn't comical enough, Burgos is racing here on their own will.

And I don't care if there is some rule for invitations based on UCI points and they qualify for it.
