So Ball is not only a flake, he is also an idiot. His company is going down the tubes and he is wasting money setting up a bike "manufacturing" company. That douche has also been stringing the riders along while knowing that there was a good chance that he would not be able to pay them for the year.Dr. Maserati said:Looks like Michael Ball has bigger things to worry about then the comeback of Rock Racing.

A month ago Ball gave an interview to Velonation. Aside from touting his new bike business, he effectively complained that the UCI would not allow him to spend the money that would have been required for a pro team. At that very time his lawyers must have been preparing the paperwork for R&R's bankruptcy.slowoldman said:Rock Racing.....here to stay.............until we have to pay
you noticed that as well.Boeing said:they seem to sell a lot of jerseys and kit merch for a team that hasn't done squat. every fred in socal wears one.
hey wallace, while i agree ball = tool , i just wanted to point out LEVI, the nice ones are also $200...........Wallace said:So let's see... you're worried about your job security and long term prospects and trying to save a little money. What's it going to be, the $200 jeans with the fancy stitching on the a$$ at Nordstroms, or a $30 pair of Levis 501s at Fred Meyer? I'm so surprised that R&R is going belly up. But I'm sure this will have absolutely no effect on the distribution of their pricey bike with the fancy logo on the bars--they'll just do a little "restructuring" and that'll fix everything.

Was talking with one of the guys from Rock's team today at Bicycle Therapy (local shop)he was telling me the news about Rock declaring Chap. 11. Said they probably won't even be selling any bike gear on the site. Not sure if that was short term or final plans.
He said he was supposed to go to Mexico next week for a race, but he was not even sure if he was going now or not.
EDIT
In other news reguarding cycling kits, the Team Radio Shack store is open. Your "Fred" riders can now choose to wear Radio Shack stuff now.
I would think that the team was owned by a separate entity that did not file for bankruptcy. Even at that since they filed for Chapter 11 they continue to operate during and after the bankruptcy. It's a plan of reorganization. Not sure what Rock & Republic's plan would look like since they provide overpriced items/luxury items that people won't buy in a bad economy. Although if the team is owned and operated by the same entity then it could be interesting with the unpaid salaries, which would get some priority.mikeNphilly said:Was talking with one of the guys from Rock's team today at Bicycle Therapy (local shop)he was telling me the news about Rock declaring Chap. 11. Do they call the XXL sized jerseys "The Lance Special"? As seen on TV, worn by Lance?mikeNphilly said:In other news reguarding cycling kits, the Team Radio Shack store is open. Your "Fred" riders can now choose to wear Radio Shack stuff now.
Thank you for confirming that there are, in fact, only 3 cool people in Philly.mikeNphilly said:Only the cool people in Philly wear their kits...all 3 of us.
TD bank announced it will sponsor the only real pro classic we have in the US for 3 more years. A 250k race in Philly. The bars open early and the people line the street with smiles and plastic cups of beer. Unlike other fear mongers, the Philly race is open to all the best racers regardless on what country you are from. There is an excellent transit system that allows you to take a train or bus to all great places along the race route. Before, during and after the race is a huge party that happens all because of a bike race. Don't take my word for it,see for yourself that there are 100's of thousands of cool people in Philadelphia.I don't think Philly is the hotbed of the Rock Racing movementMacRoadie said:Thank you for confirming that there are, in fact, only 3 cool people in Philly.
Now, as for the wanna-be kits....
The site says all of the jersey's and bibs are not availaible yet....I think they needed the material for Lance new skin suit for the Tour.Beech Mtn said:Do they call the XXL sized jerseys "The Lance Special"? As seen on TV, worn by Lance?![]()
