No Mollema was 2nd. Dunno how you could see Porte there, Porte was already overwhelmed by Mollema and Valverde with 400m to go..Porte finished 6th or 7th
Then Valverde went and everyone was gone :D

1 Valverde
2 Mollema
3 Rebellin

Won't be easy to beat Valverde here.
Sky needs to calculate better than today.
Although they've lost less than I thought they will.

Was asking myself the same? What did they want to achieve besides testing the train?

Big ring, on the drops, up a steep incline . . . . That my friends is class

Also lol at Sky tactics and Sir wiggo's form. Did they really think Porte could outsprint Valverde?

my favourite part of this stage was to see Sir Wiggins dropped like a stone.

the skytrain will be back tomorrow and drop everyone except Valverde.

Geraint Thomas looks to be an important rider for Sky this year

I noticed that- Is he the next in line to "transform" into a GT rider too in coming years?:eek::p

They were testing out the train and trying to drop as many GC contenders as they could on the final climb. Obviously it wasnt very successful but what else are they supposed to do? Just cruise up the final climb having a chat?

could have put the finish a little sooner, as those bloody cobbles don't like the best place to collapse on

Wiggins has no pretensions as a climber anymore. He job is a rouleur domestique now. His job was done

He was already pretty strong on the climbs in the Dauphiné last year, but then he crashed in the first stage of the Tour, I believe.

Pretty impressive climb by Mollema, who came out of nowhere.

They could have used one of their 8 riders to attack when Movistar had 3 riders left...

'Attacks' are pointless. No-one will bother to chase. They just wait till they tire and come back

Correct. Still too many riders who are fresh at the business end today. No point in attacking.

Lindeman does really well, but i'm a little bit disappointed in Dumoulin with that in the back of my mind.
