I remember a Vuelta stage early in his career where he had to wait for his leader Olano, sacrificing his own top ten place. Who would have thought then that he would one day win the Tour, and not Olano, Hamilton or Basso?

Its probably the smartest thing for Sastre, he has had a great career considering he was always designated as a domestique at CSC. plus without results, he would have to take a deep salary cut: most cash is going to COBO.
