pretty impressive performance from Cancellara, but let's be honest, not a lot of real high calibre contenders around, hope he didn't spend too much force that will be needed next Sunday in Flanders.

I get the feeling he didn't...

Poor Lars Boom, he dropped everyone on the Kwaremont, but had the problem dat Cancellara was riding 5 km/h faster :D

I thought Cancellara signed his death wish because there so many in front, but he simply rode them off, on a flat piece in the wind.. LOL

This guy is unbeatable.
I was surprised by Boom, looking very good for a moment there. Best of the rest, maybe. But 92nd on the results list.

It isn't like Sky has a chance either...

Probably not. They have a better shot than Garmin though, Flecha has looked better than anyone in argyle so far. Won't matter if Spartacus goes like he did today of course.

Did pretty well at MSR this year, won it before won MSB before as well. So not just cobbles.

Easily best one day racer in the world.

meh. MSR is not the same as ardennes and Italian hilly classics.
best one day racer doesn't cut it - yes he is the most successful one day racer. But he hasn't proven anything in hilly classics (yes I know Ronde is hilly, not my point). But yeah, the title is too broad. If it had to be rewarded to someone tho, probably fair assessment.

your point regarding how he wins in belgium/france. It isn't really fair, these races have a complete different dynamic. Yes I agree it is mighty impressive (boring also, once he takes off I mean). These races are generally much more select, smaller group of realistic winners.

...yea, I'm pretty sure they knew they had a teammate up the road, but other than that...

Its amazing that cycling survived prior to radios...

Probably sat up with tomorrow in mind, when spartacus drove away I mean. Not that Boom will be amongst it tho.

What's the point, sprinting for a 15th place?

The winning group is away, no points in losing energy for nothing

No one does more complaining than Cancellara, and look how fast he's riding.

Canc isnt Haussler. Once you've won a stack of races then you have leave to say things.
I disagree with the neutralized Tour stage though along with everybody else.

I don't think the radio ban makes that big a difference for the smart riders. It just really f**ks the dumb ones.

But Cancellara is the best cobbled racer right now. No need to go further than that.

Yes there is. We both know if it was the other way around you would be making the point loudly. But it isnt that way. its the other way.

Its like saying that Contador isnt the best Grand Tour rider because he only won the Tour and didnt ride the Vuelta last year.

Cancellara is atm the greatest one day racer on the planet. Doesnt mean hes the greatest at every aspect of one day racing, just the greatest overall.

There is a need to establish who the greatest one day racer just like there is a need to establsh who the greatest sprinter and climber are. And today it was done for us by Spartakus.
