2year & 8 month for an ex-cyclist

The CONI's anti-doping prosecutor has referred to the second section of the former TNA rider Paolo Savoldelli, with a request for inhibition of 2 years and 8 months. Bergamo, in which career he has twice won the Tour of Italy (2002 and 2005), is accused of having violated Articles 2.2 (Use or Attempted Use of a doping substance or method) and 3.2 (testimony of a third person) of applicable anti-doping rules. Savoldelli was brought up dall'Usada, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, in the same dossier that nailed the Texan Lance Armstrong, his former teammate of which he was gregarious in 2005 during the seventh consecutive Tour de France won by American ( all revoked for doping). The referral says the cones in a statement, "has been prepared following a request from the International Cycling Union (UCI) to open disciplinary proceedings against him."

I'm glad you managed to find this thread.
I had looked earlier to post the info, but obviously hadn't gone back far enough.

Not sure which is worse, to face a ban from pro cycling, or a ban from retirement!
Bit of a pointless, non sanction.
They could at least have handed Gibo his 3rd Giro title.;)

CONI has Ferraris e-mails?

Pardon if this is known from earlier, the Ferrari saga is so long and complicated, but I have never heard of it before:

The Norwegian newspaper VG writes that the anti-doping investigators have thousands of e-mails sent by Michele and Stefano Ferrari, and that they got access to them after the police seized a server in Finland.

VG also writes that Gazzetta dello Sport has written that Stafano Ferrari wrote Savoldelli an e-mail where he told Paolo to deny any doping at Discovery.

I hope the Ferrari's get jail time, but i wont hold my breath. Hopefully the Guarda di Finanza (Italian tax police) will take a short cut through them at least and those guys take no prisoners, ask Cipo, Rebellin or Valentino Rossi.

Why is Savoldelli getting 2 years and 8 months? Is SOL involved? The sanction was announced in March this year. SOL is eight years, so if the sanction runs from April 2006 and until he retired it would be 2 years and 9 months, so it doesn't quite add up.

Paolo Savoldelli given 6 months suspension by CONI (29.05 - 29.11.2014). Plus 350 euros

Lame

Wonder who Salvodelli was connected too?

But then no lamer than what Tygart handed out and others have handed out and more than others.

It's even more lame by thinking he's got a job in italian "Bike Channel" aired on Sky Italy.
