The Barb said:In New Zealand we get Matt Keenan leading into Phil and Paul each night, without any extraneous coverage. I could go on forever about how awful Paul and Phil have become (sadly they weren't always this bad) but instead I'll focus on the positive ...
I just wanted to add my voice to the chorus singing the praise of Matt Keenan, who is the shining light in the coverage. What he does is tremendously difficult because:
a) He is covering the early part of each stage, when there is often less going on;
b) He is doing it by himself with no one to react off.
It is difficult to overstate how difficult this is to do competently. Nonetheless I have never found myself bored when listening to him and learn something new every stage. I think he is incredibly good - one of the best sports broadcasters I've ever heard.

SBS shows the tdf every year but every 4 years they seem to let the cricket take priority. Let Ch 9 have the cricket as they usuallly do and let sbs have the cycling. SBS gets a high percentage of viewers from cycling so they should support the viewers who support them by watching their programs (cycling)
