If Lipo continues like this he will finish Third ahead of Remco.
Not all is lost despite him dropping from 50km from the finish the first time around.
If Remco can bounce back, he can still fight for podium.

In a strange way i'm even more curious about what tomorrow will bring. Will mountainTT bring some needed sec. or will Lipo take more seconds on remco.

To be fair he held well.
When he was dropped on the Soulor, I could never imagined that he would finish 7th on the stage.

A credible enough result in the circumstances. He should perform well tomorrow.
Overall, the podium might be out of reach. Lipowitz riding very well and Onley too.

Much will depend on wether Lipo has a bad day like in the dauphine. or not. Stage 18 and 19 will decide podium (if Remco manages to hang tough till then). All of a sudden the dauphine ranking comes to mind. But another week to go. Much still to ride.

If he can get to the rest day in third place, the podium fight is still possible.

If today was just "the bad day" of Evenepoel, meaning he will be much better from here on out, then Lipo doesn't need a bad day. If today was more than a bad day, and just where his form is at the moment, then he will not be close to the podium regardless.

And yet considering how bad he was, and nearly did 2 climbs solo, he only lost little over a minute to Lipowitz. Curious about tomorrow.

He’s always saying in interviews he’s used to ride in the heat and doesn’t hate it. Been good in Spanish races before when it was hot.
Just missing the winter miles and maybe a bad moment/day. This could be his level for this Tour.
He did special heat training for the Vuelta in '22, taking those ice baths after each stage. And he completely blew up in Suisse '22 partly due to the heat.

Well, it turns out both your predictions were wrong. Comfortably ahead of Jorgenson, neither did he lose 20 minutes. So a good day for Evenepoel :p

Now the next days will show whether this was a bad day, or whether this simply is his ceiling at the moment.

Considering what happened in Soulor, he ended up way better than I expected. Still top3 in the GC and his loses to (just a few) non-Pogacar guys weren't that big.
