18 months... Maybe get lucky with no huge crashes (like Lombardia or like this winter). But no crashes at all, he will always crash like he did in Dauphiné, especially if he doesn't work on his technique.
"If he stagnates"... according to Evenepoel himself, he has already been stagnating since the Vuelta 2022.
boom.
as I predicted a few days back.
pretty sad.
well, I am going to save myself a bunch of time not watching now. LOL!
go Ben Healy!
I thought you predicted he would get outsprinted by Jorgenson in the last meters. I didn't see you predict a complete implosion.boom.

I think he is done for this tour. I would not be shocked by a Vuelta 2023 collapse on one of the high mountain stages. he is running out of gas. only so many times you can skip winter foundation training recovering from injury and hurry your prep.
But still... He had 4-5 months where he was training. I don't even know what would make the most sense now. Maybe just stop, go on holiday, and focus on WC?Winter.

2 possible reasons:How can you explain this?
The latter reason does not explain why he is getting dropped by relative minnows. Unless he's ill, I think we can only conclude he is fundamentally unreliable at GTs on account of not truly being a natural climber. A little bit like Cunego.2 possible reasons:
- Illness
- He must change teams sooner than later. He is not training, eating like other riders in UAE or Visma.
In this day and age? Makes no sense at all to me. Everything is measured, and knownI think we can only conclude he is fundamentally unreliable at GTs on account of not truly being a natural climber. A little bit like Cunego.
The necessary 2% he needs to be top.He was still training and doing volume Feb-March.
Won his first race back against WVA.
Plump in LBL, but mostly because of bad position.
Race miles in Romandie.
Very good despite not matching Vinge/Pog in Dauphine.
How much can he really be off?
You are looking for all the stars aligning at this point then. The necessary 2% he needs to be top.
A normal winter and a top GT team are needed to be competitive. You are looking for all the stars aligning at this point then.
Lets hope he gets itA normal winter and a top GT team are needed to be competitive.
