Isn't Boonen like the team captain? He doesn't like Contador so I don't think he'd agree with that.

Is it widely known that Boonen doesn't like Contador? What is the backstory as to the reasons why?

That's already pretty old but nvm.

In 2013 ASO will keep him out of it, maybe in 2014 too and from 2015 onwards he's way too old.

Too bad.

30y too old?

When Lance won the tdf 2005 he was 33y old :)
And I don't see how the ASO can keep him out of the 2013 tdf?

Not too old but old as in not young anymore.

Also Lance started winning at a relatively old age. To compare Alberto won his 3th Tour when Lance won his first. You can't compare them.

Technically Armstrong was winning quite young. He won his wc in his early
20's. He didn't start winning his tours till his late 20's.

I just announced a majority opinion. Additionally bookmakers proceed not only from riders' nominal strength, but also players' stereotypes of thinking and awareness. And yet Contador got about 60% votes on CN. I personally сonsidered he couldn't hit even top-10. Isn't Michael Rasmussen an expert? :)

He could've contested the win if he hadn't lost all that time on the first stage and hadn't hurt his knee. I'm not saying he would've won, but he would have had a chance at least.

Another thing is that you never know just how good he is. He likes to sandbag around a bit.

I was saying quite obvious stuff. Afterall, saying "over-competitive" we imply GT wins.

So? I was just asking...

Okay well we will see in the tdf 2013. If he rides he will be without a doubt one of the big favorites. Also it's widely know that your a pretty big Contador fan so you should have some confidence in the guy :D Like me, I'm a Horner fan and I have faith Horner is gonna win this year's Tour of California at a age of 40y lol! :D

But seriously at a age of 30/31 he can still win :p

Is today April's fools?

I don't know "win" because it depends if another rider surpass him or not but his level is still growing and is 29, at least he could deliver even at 34 (Evans was 34 last year) and we see then if he can extend his career.

Again, you can't compare him to Evans.

Also, is that Wiggins in your avatar...

I think physically Contador's body is better than Cadel so he can age more and better than him.

And the avatar was a fail bet in Mende about Wiggo parked on the slopes...

Edit: "webbie146" I clearly miss the point then dX sorry.

Andy started performing in GT at what, 21? so he can't have many yrs left either ;)

It's one of the reasons why he doesn't overtrain on such a junk like Catalunya and wants to extend his sporting longevity.

So, LaFlorecita, we expect many many happy years accompanied by numerous Andy's wins at the Tour. :)

It's pretty clear Andy is already over his peak. It's only downhill from here. And we all know how afraid he is of descents. ;)
