I would have more faith in Sky's "process" if Wiggins or Froome were fired after their "interviews".

Why would they? Only some clinic nutters could swear blind that they must dope since they beat the others...ridiculous, assuming no one doped there would still be winners and losers, sobering thought eh ?

Having said that I'd still be interested in getting the lowdown on the preparation of all pro riders, including Wiggo and Froomey (see, I'm not a fanboy), because I think we might be surprised by the stuff they do even though it might not be illegal, wearing stockings to recuperate for a start...I wonder how many clinic aficionados know about these strange contraptions. How do I know? I spent some time with a pro team on a rest day a few years ago.

Julich, Yates and De Jongh will all receive parachute payments for confessing to their past but any members of staff signing a declaration of innocence who are subsequently “outed” as proven former dopers will be sacked with no financial package.

Ok, that makes more sense than originally reported, at least there is an incentive not to keep on lying.

Stockings? Do you mean compression tights? The things that have been around for DVTs since um forever?

Froomes differences in performance between the olympics TT and chronos de nations was just a one-off then?? If froome was a natural, a podium at chronos de nation was a given.

Wiggo was phoning in sprint leadouts in the Yellow Jersey and come world's can't finish????

I'm glad they got rid of lienders. Happy to hear it so late. I was offline for a while.

The start of next year will be interesting for sky. The sky scandal won't break for a good while???

Nice picture of the various 1994 Motorola blood brothers here. From Brian Smith's website who's also recently come out to tell his story, and is running a fantastic cycling youth fund.

Whoa -- nice pic. I can still see Michel Zanoli punching the crap out of a moto driver back in the day. I guess it was all that pent-up aggression that killed him at age 35.

I read his recent article about riding clean, but working fir Riis and Contador puts a bit of a blight on him.Definately one of the more credible though.

Ekimov.

He has never been busted and I am pretty sure he won't admit to anything. Win.

Really...

He is leaving to work with the New South Wales Institute of Sport, which is a natural progression of his career. From what I gather he is was quite active in that role already, hence being behind the recruitment of Jay McCarthy among many others. No doubt he will recommend the team to many more to come.

I doubt he would have been interested in a DS role at Sky, being a virtual 2nd in command at SBTB already. If anything he would be better suited to Brailsford's job. :)

Why exactly would that be?

Yes really.

Just stating the facts. Someone asked a question - this is an answer. No need to get defensive about it all.

Yeah - that's because you assume that your assumptions are right. You aren't the only one, but we still have NOTHING to pin these guys on. NOTHING. We have some amazing performances. Whoa - nobody ever did THAT before EPO! Whuaoh! Amazing! [Tongue firmly in cheek.]

Stop and think for second, or perhaps two seconds. It Sky was honest, and they really were clean? What could they have said differently?

Nothing? Something? Everything?

I can not see it.

We said -- O ho ho! Sky has done it now! Asking all their employees to step up to the plate and be honest!? We KNOW what some of the results should be! If Sky varies, their name would be s hit. Total, complete, utter, excrement. Nothing more. But WHOA! All the suspects got the sack! Whoa! Exactly what would have happened if Sky was being honest! But, of course, we all know Sky aren't being honest. Could never happen, right?

Hmmm.

Not so sure

had madiot tip some money into a NSWIS feeder team, which his brother Rod Mcgee managed/directed. Ashley Humbert and Mark Renshaw were two recipients. Effectively it was Mcgee's dough, as the salary + donation to fdj nswis was fungible.

Thanks, I didn't know about the feeder team... I knew they coached some, and run a shop etc. I saw Caleb Ewan had some Saxo gloves on a race video, so I guess SBTB help give a little back too. :)

He will be missed at SBTB I'm sure.

As far as the sponsor is concerned - this is no PR stunt. If it was considered as such by the team - well, they've made a big error imo.

I'm seeing a huge PR stunt

We knew these guys would get fired the moment DB spoke these words. He didn't need these interviews as we all knew who were dirty. Why hire them if you want to have nobody tainted with doping? What a BS policy, just acknowledge the past and look at their current viewpoints and actions. Because for sure, DB might try to change history, I will not forget these were the people behind Wiggo's wonder-year.

As a sidenote, seems the clinic is once again right, the rot in the management of Sky does indeed run deep.

For those who think Yates was let go from Sky due to his association with the Discovery team, that may have been only part of the story.

He ingested huge amounts of cortisone and HgH as a rider. Don't know about EPO. He was legendary for putting in massive amount of miles while training and developed a body image disorder that continues to this very day.

Link? Or is this an assumption?

Brailsford said on the radio the other night that Sky were not recruiting staff with doping convictions initially. None of those released in recent times have one, even Yates. He DID NOT officially test positive as the B sample was negative. A+B = positive. Sky have refined their stance to 'no doping past' whether caught or not. As pointed out at least twice already, staff and riders have the option to confess and while they will lose their jobs they won't lose out financially. Brailsford has stated that Sky are not the police and thus if anyone signs, he will accept them at their word, but again as already pointed out at least twice, they will immediately fire with no financial support at all, anyone linked to doping in future. Barry retired before he was fired. Leinders was dropped months ago when his Rabobank association leaked, and Julich, Yates and de Jongh have all gone this week when faced with signing the paper.
