But he isn't stronger than them. At least not stronger than Roglic.

He will probably crack at some point, though.

maybe he isnt stronger than Roglic but maybe Roglic wont finish the race .
Maybe Kuss will crack but maybe he wont
maybe Vingegaard will be good in the higher mountains ..lots of maybes here

I dont think either JV rider would mind riding for Sepp Kuss

Pretty easy to envision how this sorts out for TJV > at some point (I'm going to guess Stage 13) Ayuso or someone attacks, Kuss can't follow, Roglic follows, heirarchy reestablished. The price for three GTs is going to come due for Kuss at some point.

Not really...

Roglic is evidently stronger than Kuss. If he has to keep himself back because of what they did on stage 6, it would be just awful.
I still don’t know why folks (not just you) are thinking that will happen. I think Roglic will still be free to attack, and he can do it as a counter after Kuss or Vingegaard attack and get reeled in.

Even if Kuss loses 2 minutes and e.g roglic and Vingegaard less than a minute, Kuss will still be have some time on Evenepoel so Evenepoel still has to drop him, with roglic and Vingegaard not far

oh boy. You're going to preach from higher ground now...
Let me just tell you that SQS know what Kuss can push, what's his CdA (more or less) and thus have calculated what the time difference would be on a normal day for both. That's no disrespect.
It's like saying a weather forecast is disrespect, and convincing yourself that you are right if said weather forecast had it wrong.

It is true though that we don't have enough references on Kuss, as he had too many TT where he was able to (or even had to) soft pedal in order to be ready for the next mountain domestique duty.
Just because you can do or say something doesn't mean that you should. It's just maturity, golden rule stuff, if you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything. You see the results, Ganna did his job and so did everyone else..

It’s surprising how often “Bambi” references keep popping up in this forum :) ;)

I hope Kuss now wins this Vuelta. And I hope he‘ll win on Angliru. Mythic Angliru is where only best climbers win. A summit tailormade for Sepp.

2023 Vuelta GC final victory for Kuss would be the perfect finish of the GT season for Jumbo. Sepp guides Roglic to Giro victory, guides Jonas to Tour victory, and himself wins Vuelta. I couldn’t get better than that.

Great ITT. I feel that other teams will now need to take Kuss seriously and will attack. So i guess it is up to Kuss being able to respond or not. Each time.

Kuss Kuss Baby. He’s got a legit chance at winning this race. Come in with the favorites on one of Tourmalet or Angliru and still room to lose 40-60 seconds on 2-3 separate stages.

Remco won't sit for long, especially if any of the other GC guys ahead of him start to make a move. He can't afford to do that and wouldn't resist the temptation to force JV to cross a substantial gap. If he were successful in putting another 20-30 seconds into Roglic and Kuss; his strategic life would be simpler.
There are still danger guys ahead of all of them if Kuss falters and others get up the road...and tomorrow has a nice uphill finish with 650m climbing to test the best recovery from the TT.
There are only 2 "flat" stages left of the 11 and half of those are nightmare efforts for everyone except the winner that manages his overall effort the best.

I thought he was the best on the mountain today ...his attack was great ..only he had to hang back when Jonas went...

In the form of his life
His attack was great, and he had to do it twice because the road was blocked. If it was Pogacar there'd be an international scandal.

Besides, nobody will dare attack Sepp Kuss.
The best the Spaniards can hope for is to stay with the bosses and attack in the final km hoping JV
will start to give out gifts and win a stage. Podium is out of reach
