Hi guys,

My girlfriend is buying a new pair of Shimano road shoes. Her normal shoe size in Reebok/asics/uggs is size 4 (37) UK sizing. What size would one reccommend? She is buying them online..

Thanks, looking forward to replies

I recommend that she try them on...at a bike shop and buy them there. Save the online purchases for stuff where fit doesn't matter. Buy clothing, shoes and bikes from a shop.

I normally wear size 45, but recently got a pair of shimano shoes. I found the 45 to be too big and bought the 44. But as TexPat says, i would definately go to a bike shop and try them on first.

I normaly use 45 E wide but shimano I need 46 so go to a big bike shop and try them on then buy on line.
forget heat molding you need the correct size first then heat mold if you want.

I have to agree with TexPat. I ordered a pair of indoor soccer shoes from the interweb. As soon as I put my foot in them, they were ill fitting, as in too small.Only then I learned about paying the $5 return postage, on top of the original $8 shipping charges.$13 to try on a pair of shoes.
My first and last internet purchase for clothing/shoes.
It's best shoes are tried on in the evening, as feet tend to swell as the day goes on.

Depending on brand and style I take either a 45, 46 or 47, most commonly the 46. My current Shimano road shoes are a 47...but previous shimano MTB shoes have been just as roomy in a 46.

Agree with everyone else - she needs to try them on.

Well one guy wears one size up in Shimano, another guy wears one size down in Shimano, and I wear the same size in Shimano as with other brands. So what does that tell you? See TexPat for the answer.
