Now if I was Nike, or any of the other sponsors that have invested in Lance, I'd be sure to get someone on my payroll to throw random posts into this thread to try and stop the mounting damage to the brand. Oh and I'd hit delete on the internal memos that warned me of the risks associated with joining our brand to a suspect character.

Still whatever pack they made it would have been a pack among thieves.

So to respond in the sense you thought I should have to a "closed question:" My guess is that whatever pack Lance and Ferrari shared was a pack among thieves and the word they gave to one another would not have been worth much ...
Don't mean to be a spelling Nazi, but what I originally assumed to be typo appears to be a comprehension issue.

The word is pact and it means a type of agreement.
The word pack refers to a physically close group.

I own two Treks, but given the way they've treated LeMond and the way they've supported Armstrong, I can't see myself ever buying another Trek. And I'm saying that as someone who lives in southeastern Wisconsin!

50% decline in visits to Livestrong.org over last 7 days according to Alexa.com

http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/livestrong.org#

That's a real shame.

The real question is how much traffic to the content farm...I mean livestrong.com? Would much rather see a 50% reduction in that waste of bandwidth than the .org site which has real human value.

Pushing traffic to the .org site is clearly not a priority given the historical numbers and where the placed the content farm.

The stats look revolting.

The amazing thing is that one would suspect that the .org's traffic would grow somewhat with the growth of the .com's, even if it was accidental spillover or strengthening of the brand name. Nope. The .com has been useless to the .org.

Perhaps not so mysterious when the SEO experts that Demand uses to manipulate Google's results are taken into account.

Well, it's lucky for some that Livestrong.com is still attracting viewers. Can you imagine the legal mess if that brand's success was dependent on one individual's reputation and the Demand IPO materials failed to mention an ongoing doping investigation of same individual? Kaboom.

Personally hate boycotts. They are collectivist. I DO NOT WANT to become like the Livestrong cult zombies.

Love truth. So let's expose and shame -- and keep shaming, over and over -- LA's sick cult:

1. Cycling:
UCI (Hein, Pat), US Cycling( Steve Johnson), backers (Weisel, Knaggs, Stapleton), mouthpieces (Fabiani), etc.

2. Sponsors
Nike, Oakley...

3. Armstrong's Cancer Charities
LAF, Livestrong

4. Media
Liggett, Sherwin, Sally Jenkins, Rick Reilly, Buss Bissinger

Definition for collectivist:
Web definitions:
subscribing to the socialistic doctrine of ownership by the people collectively.
wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn
or
collectivism vs. individualism
freedomkeys.com/collectivism.htm - Cached"Collectivism means the subjugation of the individual to a group -- whether to a race, class or state does not matter.

i can't tell if you are being sarcastic in the first point or just obtuse. what isn't "collectivist"? what is a corporation? what is a government? what is a society? what is wrong with people banding together to achieve a moral objective? think of it this way. which would hurt more, a billion individual rain drops or 5 million liters of water hitting you at once? if one chooses to boycott, it is an individual choice that if repeated will have an impact on a much larger, more powerful entity.

naming and shaming only works if there is a (monetary) penalty for their actions. nike, et al don't give a rat's behind whether they are liked or not as long as you buy their product. look at apple. fanboys/hipster/liberals continue to buy their stuff despite all of the news reports that the products are produced under dubious conditions, while apple rakes in the dough and its stock is propelled to record heights.

"the Alpine Odyssey, which is part of the Leadville Race Series, owned by Life Time Fitness"

The Alpine Odyssey is a qualifier for the 2013 Leadville 100 bike race.

One sponsor of Leadville is Carmichael Training Systems.

Life Time Fitness and the Leadville Race Series organize the Camp of Champions:
- 50 spots available at $2000 with Leadville Trail 100 race entry included.
- 25 spots available at $1000 without entry.

http://www.livestrong.com/lifetime-fitness/

“Like him [Armstrong] or not, he’s a good thing for the sport,” David Ochs, the local organizer.

Ochs has matters upside down. It does not matter if you like Lance Armstrong or not; what does matter is what he has done to the sport.

Hopefully some MTB riders will say enough with this greedy manipulation of their sport and pull out of the Alpine Odyssey.
