So is he gonna ride the tour?

90% sure Henao will start, he's been training to peak there and Froome needs him. They left a spot open for Suisse especially for him, now he just has to show good shape.

Would be good to see him back! Im actually hoping he doesnt do the tour and goes Tour de Suisse, Osterreich Rundfahrt, Tour de Pologne, Vuelta a Espana, Worlds, Pimonte, Lombardia but thats just wishful thinking.

Does his contract end at the end of this year?

overtrained like almost all at sky. see sky's horrible tour and everything after that(outside of froome who didn't attend the tenerife camp)

I doubt it. There is a reason why they are rushing him to ride the Tour de Suisse. Only one big reason.;)

we'll see . i doubt that sergio will do better than wiggins in suisse
the 25 km time trial is before the mountain stages. he will be the best from sky there and become leader to defend the jersey for sure
saas fee..that's not even a climb for christ sake. it's more like lautaret, 20 km at 4% then kicks a little,no problem there for wiggo

verbier....depends on the speed and his legs, imo wiggo is very strong, it's the climb where he attacked the heads of state in 2009. and this time surprise surprise, there is 1,5 km of flat after the top...no way he will lose lot of time there if he's as strong as in cali.

so yeah i don't think sergio will end up better than wiggins in suisse.

He doesn't need to beat Wiggins to take a potential Tdf spot from him, just show he's got decent climbing form.

So we lost Betancur but at least we got Henao back. That's nice, but poor Wiggo is doomed.

He will be back for Vuelta cuz by that time he will spend all if his money by drinkin, betting and eating:D

I predict Henao will be good, actually very good in second half of the season:cool:

To be correct: Saas Fee starts at 700m and ends at 1800. 1100 m elevation gain. Climb is between 19 km ( ~ 5,8 % average) and 20 km ( 5,5 % average) long.

It picks up a little at the end, yes ( 2-3 km at around 8 %), but there is also a ~ 3 km false flat right before that - which evens out the gradient. So we can conclude... the first 13-14 km should be between 5,5 and 6 % before that. Not super irregular but not super regular either.

Not easy to get the exact numbers but it should be around those numbers. Yes, the climb favors Wiggins but if you're clearly stronger, 6 % is enough to ride away with a good attack. Or to make the field explode and tire your oppenents - and make the difference in the last 2,5 km.

Terrible news. I really hope he can recover from this.

This might even be more mentally than physically demanding.
