Plus Sarmiento (as a domestique of course), and possibly Monsalve/Anacona.

I doubt Quintana or Anacona will go due to their youth/inexperience, but maybe Monsalve could force his way into the Androni squad.
Does anybody knows if Betancur will switch teams now that AS will not go to the Giro?

It was discussed on Italian newssites, but nothing serious at the moment. Last year the organizers of Vuelta Colombia invited ASA to their race because of Betancur. With no Giro in their legs, this could become reality in 2012 if Betancur stays with ASA.

What do you think about Henao first year in the Pro-Tour? is he on the right track or you expected more/less?

I personally think he is on the right track!

He manages the bad days very well. Seems to be very consistent taking into account that this was his first year in the Pro-Tour.

I think he is right on track as well, 9th in his first GT is a great result, and he was also very good in Burgos. He may not have won any races but he has shown he has the potential in his first season with the pros. It's too bad he had to ride for Froome in the Vuelta, I think he could have done well in the GC if he had gotten the chance to be a leader there.

Certainly on the right track. Good showings at the Giro and Worlds'.

Should once again be the leader for the Giro and may be have a go at the Ardennes and Lombardia.

Should also have a serious go at next years' worlds'.

And for long is he contracted at Sky?

I wish he joins another team.

His contract with Sky expires at the end of next year.

I don't think a podium finish is out of the question at next year's Giro. His consistency has been very impressive which certainly points to him being successful in Grand Tours.

I sort of expected him to be good at Giro but he even did a great Vuelta (beside some unluck and working for team mate).
And Im totally sold at how versatile he is for both GT, one week long stage races and even one day events!
He would be a leader in any other Pro Tour team.

I'm so excited to see what he can do at Lombardia :) I hope he will have shared leadership with Uran.

Cav lead Sky at the Giro this year and the course next year may favour Bradley Wiggins.

9th indeed despite working for cavendish and uran. especially the latter was pointles.s henao was amazing onthe stelvio henao was one of the best. his recuperation and consistancy is amazing. he is also clearly working on his gearing which means he won;t suffer in steep climbs anymore. this could already be seen in burgos. unfortunately he was totally abused working for froome in the vuelta.

He seems very happy at Sky. I think he'll extend his contract.

we will see about that. he's obviously not going to say he's unhappy at sky and he isn't but I think when the possiblitie arises. he will go back to a colombian team at the end of next year. coldeported. henao giving away victory to chaves to me again assured how much he wants colombian team to succeed. also reason why he went to europe that late

next years giro will be all about henao and uran. they've been told leadershiip there and working role in vuelta. they want to try and win or podium it. and the giro course won't suit wiggins at all.

That's probably how it will work out but I wonder where Porte fits in. Maybe they'll save him for the Vuelta because he looks ready to at least have a chance to ride for GC in a Grand Tour next year. There's certainly no shortage of capable domestiques to support Uran/Henao at the Giro and Wiggins/Froome at the Tour anyway.

The course will not suit Wiggins, just because there are 2 ITTs.

And Wiggins most probably will not ride the Giro next year.

Cav contested the bunch sprints at the Giro but Uran and Henao went for GC, obtained top 10 positions.

I personally think Uran could of won the Giro this year with a bit more support.

henao performed very well in his first year at pro tour level and i am very happy having been among the ones that were believers.
but the season is not over and i expect something in milano-torino, lombardia and emila.
the same for betancourt, while uran has always done well in lombardia, so there are hopes that the season is not yet over for the escarabayos.
i expect some showing from chaves on the muro di sormano in lombardia, but the race is too long for him

i believe that henao has to stay one year more with sky, than go away and have his chances in any race.

.

Why not? What type of course did he demonstrably prove he couldn't win on this year? Really steep stuff, stages with repeated HC climbs, getting stronger deep into the last week - he was ticking every box. Which part of the as yet unconfirmed Giro route will not suit him?

uh. about everything. the steep climbs. the explosive hilly finals, technical downhil finishes. the being consistant over 3 weeks of climbing instead of 1 in the tour

OK, great. So please point out where Wiggo lost out in those areas last year and where they feature in next year's Giro route.
