Some would argue the word "again" is not necessary in that sentence.

That's a very good point.

Then again, by that definition 'had to' is also not necessary.

So riders you don't like all deserve broken elbows or so called karma ? He was injured before, it's hardly Paris-Roubaix and he has to get some racing miles in sooner rather than later if he wants to do well in the Ardenne races.

Obviously you dont get it.

I never said a rider deserves an injury just because I dislike him so please stop putting words into my mouth.

And if I was calling karma on him I would not be wasting my time and asking who's decision it was to pick this race for his comeback. As others pointed out, there is several other races going on at this time so they could have chosen something less dangerous. Thats all I was saying.

But it is not all that you were saying, or you would not have mentioned karma. A more sympathetic fan of the sport might have simply mentioned the bad luck.

And an apparent desire to criticise his team has apparently made you assume, erroneously, that the accident happened in the minority sectors of the course.

Well, it wouldn't be an Armchair to take a (low) blow at this.

Didn't I use the words "bad luck" in my OP? Please next time read my original post before you you decide to join a discussion.

Same for saying that I did criticized his team. I did not say one word about his team, so please, once again, at least read my post before you decide to comment.

Yes, you did mention bad luck: my point is that, contrary to what you later claimed, that is not all you were saying: you invited the conclusion that it was deserved by his racing style. You obviously missed the word "simply" in my post.

And if you weren't having a dig at his team management, who did you mean by "what genius picked this technical and quite dangerous event..."? You clearly did not mean "genius" to be read in a complimentary understanding.

What genius?

It could have been the rider himself, his team, his coach (if he got one outside of team), sponsor pressure, his family decision, his mechanic, or even a coin-flip decision.

While a bike crash can happen at any time, on any road, I still believe Strade was a wrong choice as in addition to the dirt sections, the roads are very narrow and not exactly safe.

JMHO

Well Gerrans manager and himself thought it was a good race for him. He had some bad luck and crashed which can happen in any race and was injured. End of story. At this stage of his preparation maybe he wanted this type of race instead of a stage race to only pull out before the finish. Sounds like the wind was more of a problem than the roads at the Strade.

No he did not. He has won races with impressive names and deserves credit for that but the editions of those races he won were far from "impressive".

Oh yes he did. He won some impressive races, with impressive names, and with impressive opponents!

The man has been so unlucky this season it really makes you sad. Crash after crash after crash, abandon after abandon.

Should be back for the Grands Prix Cyclistes and the Worlds.

Hopefully all these crashes do not demoralise him for next year and he continues to ride at a high level.

This crash occurring might allow him to fly under the radar for the WCRR and salvage his season!

As much as I dislike this wheelsucker, he got more than enough of karma payback this season even for my taste.

Has Simon Gerrans revealed himself as The Secret Pro? Well atleast according to all the information he has given about himself in his blogs. How could this damage his image if he were to be revealed?

Hmm you really think its gerro?

Well I certainly think he's one of the writers on the blog, all - or atleast a lot - of the information the author has given points towards it. Though whether or not he's the sole penman I do not know and do not believe to be true.
