Siutsou = Sivtsov

Great site! I really like it, very useful when you are at work :rolleyes:

Just one thing about the winner in the Giro from saturday: his name isn't actually Siutsou, but Sivtsov. The reason: normally his name is written in the Cyrillic alphabet, and it wasn't 'translated' correctly. Everyone keeps om using Siutsou, and they will continue to do that, I think. Anyway, now you know...

The UCI has it as Suitsou, which is where we - and everyone else - takes their cue.

If cycling's governing body can't get the transliteration of rider names right, it's hard for us to!
