Hi, I think I've managed to break the thread on my front quick release skewer so now both the nut and the qr lever just turn without undoing, any ideas for getting the wheel off?

thanks in advance

No sledge hammer try to get some grips and turn the nut .

If its alloy use a hack saw carefully. otherwise take it to a bike shop.
You can grind it off but be carefull.

3mm diameter pin punch and a hammer. Line up the punch straight with the QR skewer on the nut side, and give it a couple good hard hits. Should break the threads off the nut and the skewer will slide right out. 3mm punch will allow for leeway if the punch goes into the axle it won't damage anything. You'll have to replace the skewer of course.
