I just noticed Greipel came in over two minutes down. He said the end was too hard for him, but that seems excessive. The ramp up at the finale was only supposed to be about a kilometer, right?

From the results it looks like a nice finish - with those little gaps in between groups, and only a group of 5 or so riders arriving in the same time. I'm not sure but I think this finish is new - I hope they keep it in the future

Poor Linus. I remember when he was going to save German cycling. Or bring the German public back to cycling, or something. Anyway, he had some good wins those first five years or so of his career, and I'd hoped he would show well here. Here's hoping for a stage win!

Gerdemann crashed with 100 m to go according to the MTN qhubeka site, so it seems henwas just unlucky. I can still see him doing rather well here.

Nothing wrong with the parcours imo.
There are very good riders that are very motivated here.
Fast pace in the finale, no free rides.
