6 riders per team and a narrow finish and technical final. that's so great, it makes a sprint totally different. normally a guy like rangel could never get 2nd here or ardila 5th

I really underrated tomorrow's stage. The finale looks terrible, with a ramp of 21%.

And it is a route, that reminds a lot of Libertine's races in the Race Design Thread. Incredible view from the final ascent.

But there's still another toughy after that right? I kept hearing the guy in charge of the live coverage saying it was la etapa princesa, because the reina was still to come.

And can someone tell me why the UCI wasn't allowing the riders to use arm warmers in stage 2?

I can't believe Cardenas is still racing. Seems like he has been around forever. I remember when he won his stage at the 2001 Tour when riding for Kelme, he stood up on the pedals when crossing the line without his hands on the bars. Impressed that he didn't fall off as he would have looked quite the fool for doing so.

Don't forget Libardo Niño. ;) He was born in 1968 and got second at last year's Tour de Langkawi and won the International Presidency Tour of Iran. He continues this year racing for the Iranian team Azad University.

Is there a relation between the Giro del Sol and the Vuelta a San Juan?

Giro del Sol is like a prologue to the Vuelta a San Juan which starts usually a few days after the Giro del Sol.

cardenas is a very good bike handler. cardenas has done a horner in that he's the best he's ever been since late 2010 winning rcn and last year vuelta colombia, although in colombia he was lucky with sucky parcours a bit. montana and baez were better in mountains for sure but still he rode excellent. first time he ever won the vuelta and that at age 38. he has been extremely motivated since riding with gw shimano, as are most and his itt has improved tremendously too

I remember him winning tour stage in 2000 already? and vuelta too and in 2003 he was the best climber in the vuelta he rode away in every mountain from all the favorites, only his itt was really bad back then :( as well as his team cafe baque
