I have said this on other forums. I refuse to buy anything Specialized. They bully LBS's limiting your range of choice and litigate against other companies.

I am in the process of setting up my own bicycle brand and am toying with the idea of having the following disclaimer just for hell of it:

NOTE TO SPECIALIZED’S LEGAL TEAM
The brand, company logo, model names, and wording used in the above are either products of the author’s imagination or the imagination of others. Any resemblance to your actual existing models or text in your advertising or webpage content is purely coincidental.

Even if you are another Andy Rihs, the only thing that happens is you WILL pay a lawyer lots of money while Specialized demands and gets access to all of your company's records.

It's just one reason why they do it. They then know who you are and how long to bleed you on legal bills.

Lots of nice bikes out there, buddy. You don't have to buy from these arseholes.

I probably won't, I love my steel hardtail too much, but it is a fantastic bike. If I ever do go full suss it's likely to be a Cotic Rocket.

I've noticed the MTB community is nowhere near as clued into the crap Specialized and Trek have been involved in over the years, I got some funny looks once when I said I wouldn't buy a Trek.
