AC pulled LA to that 3rd spot. He knows it. Thats why he needs another young gun to ride for 2010. if AC was obedient to the bikeness, LA would have been first

I'm inclined to agree, but in the situation where LA was in yellow the final days I think the Shlecks constant attacking might have cracked LA who would then have lost the podium too.

There is no doubt in my mind that Andy had the confidence that he could win the tour by attacking the leader in the final week.

Lance rode himself into 3rd on the last time trial. Maybe you meant some other race. No, that's right, Lance has been gone 4 years. So, you are just plain incorrect.

Look at stage 16 with Schlecks, AC, and Kloden in the leading group. AC attacked and dropped Kolden. If Kolden would have finished in this group, Kloden would have ended up in 2nd in GC after this stage assuming Kloden finished in this group. LA needs to thanks AC for putting him on the podium.

I am not sure he could have stayed with the Schlecks even if AC didn't put in that attack. After getting over the summit of the Columbiere he was caught by Armstrong and Nibali and struggled to stay with them. When AC attacked (and it was a pretty mild attack) he cracked, the Schlecks noticed and gapped him. Based on this, I don't think Kloden would have summited the Columbiere with the lead group.

So the Schlecklet is onto LA's tactics.

If I understand this poor translation, AS saw what LA did to AC this year and wants no part of it and LA is just trying to prevent a loss next year.

If anyone has a better translation, please correct my impressions.

Guessing AC hasn't lost any respect in the Peloton by standing up to LA. As a matter of fact, he's gained it.

yes I agree. LA wins his tours by signing up all the tour contender so they have to work for him and thus eliminate tour contenders. Look how LA team in the past had podium finishers and tour contenders like Levi, Kloden, Heras, etc.

I think it would be REALLY interesting, if Lance would sign Jakob Fuglsang, AFTER his retirement. I'm hoping, and I see a gret possibility that Jakob will be a future Tour winner. :)

I agree with this completely. People don't like to bring up facts that screw with their agenda though. Something else people like to ignore in this discussion is that Armstrong was actually playing the team game in Stage 17 by holding Wiggins back. He showed that he could cover a gap in the previous stage, and while he wasn't going to make up the full ground he wouldn't have been anywhere near as far back if he wasn't with Wiggins.

So Contador didn't know his roll at Astana this year?
