Hopefully Gianni Meersman rides!!! a few good stages for him ..

Yes he will but not a good year so far...

Oh please he absolutely bossed that 2nd place at Le Samyn...

He bossed the Cadel Evans Race!!

To be serious, he's an under the radar guy but he gets always seems to get wins. He has won in every season since 07 except 2010. Valuable guy to have at a team like IAM, Lampre, and clearly Cannondale and Jumbo - and rather superfluous at Etixx sadly.

True. But what do you mean with superfluos at Etixx? Do you think that at IAM, Lampre and stuff he would race in bigger races or race more often?

If you took Meersman's wins away, Etixx would still have the most wins this season (at least as of the beginning of the month). Whereas at Cannondale/Jumbo/FDJ/Trek/IAM he would be responsible for a good percentage of their wins - and he'd probably have more wins at those teams since he'd lead the team at more races. Not GTs perhaps but a team where he was a bigger player would give him more winnable races than Etixx enter him for. Look at his weird role in ZLM Tour where he went for the mountain classification.

he was struggling with back pain for most of the season, I doubt he would have won more with those teams, he just wasn't fit enough to do so. And especially in 2013 Quick Step supported him a lot and he was their lead-sprinter for several (WT) stage races, and even some one day races (Brabantse Pijl, AGR...), which is quite remarkable regarding their roster.
