Is that why he lost 44 minutes on the last MTF? ;)
He's so far back now, it would be wise to attack early. Do you know he lost all that time? Is he even in the shape right now to achieve anything? I'd really like Columbia to get a stage win.

he lost 44 minutes because he had to stop 5 times on the descenf of the gavia, he was even put in the car for a while, on top of gavia he was still with the first he can't handle cold descends

You cannot break Svein Tuft, he will battle to the end.

He has fallen down the order though - he was leading the Giro equivalent of the Lanterne Rouge a few days ago, but he is now in third position, 10:49 behind the leader of that "Classification". He needs to be careful that he doesn't end up OTL in his attempts to win it though, which can be difficult if his nearest competitors are in the Grupetto.

dont jeer Tuft. if there is any rider who can ride with just grit, then it would be him.

You mean like when he finished with the elite group on la farrapona, (Despite domestiquing) again on Angliru the day after (despite domestiquing and being held back) and then won on Pena cabarga 2 days later.

Or maybe you mean like the alpes in the 2012 tour when he won 1stage, led home tiny groups of heads of state in the next 2 then had the energy to podium the tt (despite aerodynamic handicapped).
I dont like to use argument of weak field, but in this case its clear reason,In those races there was nobody anywhere near to Quintana climbing,so Froome was by far the best climber in those races (ohh Cobo:rolleyes:).As a result he could do almost everything what he wanted with this bad field.
Or you mean like the dauphine last year when be dropped everyone 2 mountain stages in a row?
I dont want to be rude, but are you serious? There was worse field than in those 2 GT mentioned.Oh I forgot Contador who all winter was flying across Europe with Tinkoff and almost forgot what the bike looks like.

Oh, all that doesn't count, because after being beaten stage after stage by froome for 2 and a half weeks of the 2013 tour Quintana put together 2 results- 2 results, over 3 days when froome was already counting his prize money cos he had a 7 min gap, and that proves Quintana can ride multiple stages and froome can't and therefore Quintana is the best climber?
You know what Quintana did on Ax3 and Ventoux,so dont try to confuse me.
bolded: Froome was there for humiliating every cyclist on french roads in July,so he wasnt counting his money at all.Maybe I give you that he was a bit unmotivated on last 1 km of Semnoz when Purito attacked him,but nothing more.
So to your last question: Yes.;)

Hmm I reckon Froome and Quintana are roughly equal as climbers, but Froome has an advantage in TTs.

QUintana is still young and improving though so he may well go ahead of Froome in climbs but I think Froome's TT advantage is too much for Tour 2015 right now.

We'll see though. I'm not always right, as my avatar proves ^_~

Regarding this: has anybody won the Maglia Nera after wearing the Maglia Rosa during the race?
