No, he means from the bottom of the climb till the top whoever gets the best time In The tdf (I haven't checked if that's true, but...) in this stage it's over the whole stage Including the original 7k (in the tour according to him it wouldn't include the first 7k)

I think he's right about the TDF mountain points awarded within a time trial. Nothing to back it up, just based on a recollection.

Good news on Majka.

Can anyone tell me what UK time the stage is likely to finish today please?

Quintana starts at 3:11 UK time so the stage could finish at 4:15 say. Edit: Beat to it, nvm !

Same for today... that's why they have a time check at the bottom of the climb.

I feel the diesel guys will do well. Aru and company will suffer because of there age ( experience ) and Rolland and company will have less pressure to podium, just a hunch I have.

My top 8 preview:

- Quintana
- Uran
- Brambilla, if he have a go from his team
- Pozzo
- Aru
- Kelderman
- Rolland

then ... a great ???

Cataldo, Pirazzi, Arrendondo and company ...should they save their energy for zocolan ? I think so ... but ...

I like Nairo Quintana but the time he gained on Stelvio descent is what now separates him from Uran in GC. It would be better for him if he adds another 1-2 minutes over his nearest rivals in Monte Grappa or Zoncolan. If not then he will be remembered as a winner of Giro controversy.

Go on then, tell me again how I get the live ticker on the official Gazzetta site to work. Nothing is happening but lots of snazzy graphics.

(Roll on the ASO takeover of the Giro).
