At some point in the race, I have noticed every single one of the riders finishing in the top 30 overall. Except De Greef. How on earth has he managed to sneak into 19th? He's the Kevin De Weert of the Giro.

At some point in the race, I have noticed every single one of the riders finishing in the top 30 overall. Except De Greef. How on earth has he managed to sneak into 19th? He's the Kevin De Weert of the Giro.

De Greef is a rider who could be a great lieutenant to Jurgen VDB in the mountains, but instead he chooses to ride for a top-20 or 25 in the Giro. He always gets into trouble on the steeper gradients, but still for a big guy he can climb quite well.

Last year's kit was better, maybe you can still get one of those

The only thing I didn't like about De Gendt's podium spot was having to watch it on Sporza (Eurosport is just too terrible) and hearing the reporters constantly moaning about "what ifs"... what if they had done a better TTT, what if De Gendt didn't flat on that stage where he lost a minute, what if De Gendt could fly... What they don't seem to get is that the favourites would have never let him have a 5 minute gap practically for free before they even started riding, if he was at one minute in GC.

I know from sources that the list goes like that : 1. BMC 2. Katusha/Astana 3 .RSNT 4. OPQS/Sky/Garmin

But I have no idea how it goes further in the list and with the money. Any source ?

BMC basically has an unlimited budget, at least that's the rumour. If a guy like Van Garderen already makes a million bucks, I don't think that's too far from the truth.

Garmin is not 4th in that list, actually they have a pretty small budget. In terms of return on investment, they're probably the best team.
