I literally explained why? A steady pace stops the attacks, and now they can just let the gap go and chill if they would want to.
UAE usually ride hard then let the break slowly get time to 2-3 mins before they start bringing it back down when they go for the stage.

Why wouldn’t visma use Yates with some sort of Vingo attack? Could get some time back for that effort

By the way, we were having this discussion after stage 4 how the "sprinters" are detracting from the sport imho. What we have today is pretty much how the peloton should look like. I am quite positive that the crashes will be at minimum then.
