Bah. I don't like Armstrong. But to be giddy over a guy essentially crashing out... seems like sore winner syndrome.

I wanted someone to beat him straight up one more time.

That said, if LA truly works for Levi (I'll believe it when I see it), he'll probably gain back some lost respect.

There were plenty of times when it didn't seem like la was riding for ac last year despite ac being clearly the stronger rider. LA just couldn't believe he wasn't the main man.

Hopefully, being so far down he will ride for LL, although he did say in interview that maybe he would have to concentrate on stage wins. Stil doesn't sound like the team player. Some people can't be told.

Levi Leipheimer won't finish top 5 either... RS should change plans and go for stage wins indeed, while some guys watch over LL who might finish top 10. Nothing more to gain imo.

AS looked slightly better than AC yesterday imo, I hope for AC it was just not a too great day for him, or AS might take more time and win the tour .

I was actually just talking about this year where Armstrong was one of the largest of the GC contenders, the "former" refereed to him not being in contention anymore, not to a broader historical context. Still any disadvantage LA has from the heat clearly isn't large enough to explain getting dropped that early.

Ah-so. Sorry for the confusion, and I agree. I think heat, age, and wrecking sank him. This could be a great Tour. The pace is high and the action is frantic so far.
