May was my busiest month this year, so unfortunately I didn't get to see stage 15 of the giro (it definitely was great though). Voted for the Alphe d'Huez stage. I agree with Gilbertador "the racing starting early and there were lots of subplots.

Gardeccia followed by alpe d'huez. In both of these their was just so much going on, attacking, great descending, non gc guys going for the win. They really had it all. As great as the galibier stage was, whenever i look back on it/rewatch it, it isn't as exciting. I realize at the time it was extremely exciting, but it really was just one large battle the whole time, and its inability to excite upon subsequent viewings is why it loses in my book.

I would have said it started on 16 which saw the biggest GC action. Without that, Andy probably would have just waited to attack on Alpe d huez on 19 and not much else would have happened .

Clever. You have a point there. And after all, that win by Thor on stage 16 was epic. Who'd have thunk he'd do that on that route? But still, I really didn't jump out of my seat until stages 18-19-20.

He's talking about Contador's attacks on stage 16. The Tour was really good for the last 6 stages(I don't mind the Champs Elysées personally).
