When he made that comment I knew instantly someone would misquote him here. He did indeed say almost 100% clean. He said he based the opinion on the fact noone was riding away from the Pelaton on a daily basis like Ricco was. That when the Pelaton is racing everyone is on their knees keeping up and concentrating. This was in reply to a question regarding whether making races stages shorter would stop riders doping.

Of course if you view is that he is doping you will believe that he is just upholding omerta, if you believe he is clean then you take it just as his observations.

He also talked about how great it was riding with the IoM team and how proud he was of them and his frustrations of not being able to do more Spring Classics as a team player rather than a protected rider.

I would be more worried about the shout out by Ligget at the end for the entire McQuaid family

Voeckler echoes similar sentiments:

French champion Thomas Voeckler has said that he believes that the sport of cycling is in a better position than it has been in many years, stating that he thinks the majority of the peloton is competing clean.

That's fair enough. That would mean there are less than 90-100 dopers in a GT. I'm not sure I agree, but it's an arguable opinion. That just leaves all the jersey contenders and their most important lieutenants...

I wasn't quoting Cav, I summarised what he said.

'100% of the peloton less a few bad apples' is semantically the same as 'almost 100% of the peloton'.

As euanli says, people will read into that what they will.

A bit more believable, but even if Cav said this we would probably still give him ****.

Tommy V has been around long enough to see things happen though, so his is a bit more of an informed opinion.
