Slagter is a super lightweight guy, I don't know if that's a good thing on the gravel. Nordhaug should be okay, he got through Haut Var without problems (I think?) and as an ex-MTBer and hills specialist this race should suit him.
Indeed, but with Slagter's form at the moment you never know. The final hill should be good for him, the question is if he'll get there in the lead group.

Nordhaug was 20th overall in Haut Var, but it's hard to say much about his form from that. This race suits him perfectly though, so I would be surprised if he isn't top 10.

Valverde is racing this year and he's got good form so I'd put him on the short list of favorites even though I don't recall him doing this one before. Hard to count him out in anything that isn't pan-flat when he's going well.

the dude is certainly on fire even though we have heard he is going to be pacing himself now till the tour.

Moser is coming from an extended period of training in mid february. I doubt he could be competitive. Lugano should have been his first race of the seaso but was cancelled.

Start list looks promising so far. Modolo indeed a pretty fast recovery. Hope he can be in decent shape for MSR.
