It's the last long gravel sector, plus UAE were very obviously setting it up. None of the other top dogs are there, and Pogacar has more and more ventured into making long solos for the lolz.

He won with a 50km solo last time, and his edge over the field now is clearly bigger than it was in 2022, especially in a longer, muddier race.
