Hi, I've been using Strava with my iPhone and am LOVING it. Great way to record and track my riding. Awesome.

Does anyone use a stem mount for their iPhone or has tried it and abandoned it? I just keep the phone in my back jersey pocket right now but a little concerned that I'll crash and the glass will injure me.

Not interested in the Garmin option as I prefer to bring my phone anyway in case of emergencies, so just wondering about the stem mounted iphone and if there's one y'all would recommend. Thanks!!

Uh, yeah. Super helpful. Already googled it, was asking for someone here with experience. Sometimes a conversation is nice.

I keep mine in the back jersey pocket. I keep the glass faces covered with plastic stick-on protectors, BodyGuardz, which seem pretty tough. I don't think you'd have a problem with stray glass using them.

A ziplock baggie is a good idea for weather protection as well.

Makes sense. I ordered a stem-mount version for 13 bucks, but it's probably going to rattle around more than I want. We'll see. If not I'll go with the protectors.

Hopefully you have accidental insurance, I've seen. my fair share of iPhone/Droids fly off on bumpy roads, most have instantly shattered in pieces.

The one I ordered came in, seemed cheaply built. Sent it back.

No, I don't have insurance on my phone.

RE: Battery life, I've not noticed anything unusual. Phone is not in display mode when the service is running, so likely negligible. I've used it on a 3 hour ride so far, and while I wasn't watching closely, no unusual battery drain was noticed.
