I was waiting for him to get caught on the downhill - and it ain't over yet, but he's doing pretty well.

This is proper good course design. Shame that it's the only truly great stage of the race, but super hard climb with 40 to go + easy final climb = great racing.

So is the reason Frank Schleck is so strong is because of him riding half of the Giro? So its kind of similar to moreno at the dauphine and jrod last year at the dauphine. I wonder if he will be able to stay in form until the Tour, because if he does then riding half the giro could become a new way to prepare for the tour.

Or maybe just soft-pedal the 2nd half of it? Basso should be a monster then.
