MVP have a palmares better than everybody, including pogacar, because he is dominant in three sports.This. MVP doesn't have the palmares of Boonen but he is way more complete.

And who cares about CX and MTB?MVP have a palmares better than everybody, including pogacar, because he is dominant in three sports.
Must say it's long road to go when VDP has to almost double ranking points pcs/uci to reach Boonen level performance. He's advancing atm but does he have mental stamina to go that long like say 14 seasons? This. MVP doesn't have the palmares of Boonen but he is way more complete.
If you live in Belgium CX matters alot. And it has produced some strong road cyclists, latest one being Thibau Nys. You may not care, but it is special that someone can be dominant in three different disciplines. Seeing his power and technical brilliance in CX is, at least for me, a thing of beauty. And who cares about CX and MTB?

So according to some people, VdP in the future will have a better palmares than Merckx. Many people actually but @Froome is wrong as Van der Poel has never won the MTB Worlds or Olympics.
Actually MTB worlds, will be his main goal this season, not PR or Flandres, people forget about that. He is a part timer and he still win races. Many people actually but @Froome is wrong as Van der Poel has never won the MTB Worlds or Olympics.
And that's probably the reason for his limited spring schedule, already stoping after PR as I understand it. He will do MTB in May.Actually MTB worlds, will be his main goal this season, not PR or Flandres, people forget about that. He is a part timer and he still win races.
Nevertheless he was dominant in MTB.
Exactly. So according to some people, VdP in the future will have a better palmares than Merckx.
It's like Djokovic wanting to be a world champion in badminton and table tennis just to add to his achievements.
CX and MTB are different sports with their own challenges. That's not what we're talking about here.

Pog vs MVDP at Gravel WCs would be interesting but won’t happen until they resolve the scheduling conflict with Lombardia. For me, Pog is the undisputed king of hilly classics, while Van der Poel reigns over the flatter ones.
Yet, Pog is increasingly encroaching on VDP’s territory, whereas VDP hesitates to challenge Pog on his own.
With all due respect to Gravel WC, Lombardia has much more prestige. It's a monument.Pog vs MVDP at Gravel WCs would be interesting but won’t happen until they resolve the scheduling conflict with Lombardia.
Pog was actually reconning the gravel worlds course in nice a few months ago so there was some hope but now it’s been cancelled who knows where it will be…Pog vs MVDP at Gravel WCs would be interesting but won’t happen until they resolve the scheduling conflict with Lombardia.
I agree with all that and Pog is never going to sacrifice a monument for what is still relatively speaking a gimmick. With all due respect to Gravel WC, Lombardia has much more prestige. It's a monument.
And Pog can win this year 5 Lombardia in a row.
What a champ.
And a race he is clearly the favorite every year.I agree with all that and Pog is never going to sacrifice a monument for what is still relatively speaking a gimmick.
Not sure who’s the lightest rider to ride PR in the last 25 years but Pidcock rode last year and his PCS weight is 58 kg. He finished 17th, more than 6 mins down on MVDP.Who is the lightest rider to be Paris-Roubaix in the last 25 years?
I found Knaven by looking through it on PCS.Not sure who’s the lightest rider to ride PR in the last 25 years but Pidcock rode last year and his PCS weight is 58 kg. He finished 17th, more than 6 mins down on MVDP.
About the lightest winner I could find in that same time period, Marc Madiot won in 1991 weighing at 68 kg. He’s actually the last sub-70 kg rider to win Roubaix as of today.
I found the info from this website: https://www.cyclistshub.com/paris-roubaix-statistics/
Because Narvaez already cooked himself trying to get him and Pogi to the front while Wellens was pulling all out.Watching back when Narvaez is done with his pull on Cipressa... Pog seems a bit surprised for like half a second until he realises he has to attack and that Narvaez was really done there.
He was probably supposed to pull for a little bit longer than what he did.
I guess it will always be pretty difficult to go into Cipressa perfectly.Because Narvaez already cooked himself trying to get him and Pogi to the front while Wellens was pulling all out.
Pogacar was supposed to attack 20 seconds later.I guess it will always be pretty difficult to go into Cipressa perfectly.
What Wellens did was huge. I wouldnt say Narvaez was disappointing, but the circumstances made Pog having to improvise and go earlier then what was the plan I think. I can understand if he may have been frustrated with how it played out and given his own position going into the climb. Then it looks like Narvaez might not have paced himself very well when he got on the front. Of course, he might have been on the limit already but maybe if he goes just a tad bit slower or just pull until he sees Pog goes past him instead. Rewatching, it looks like Narvaez just empties himself too soon... when he wasnt supposed to do that and Pog looks to side a bit perplexed. Realises he has to attack.
Again, it is hard to perfect given how they went into the climb and that will always be crucial. Del Toro getting lost in the sauce completely. There are some important details that could have been better. Still, it almost worked anyway. You just got to go for it, as they did. Cant wait. That is racing.
It showed a Cipressa attack might work though in the future. It didnt look impossible.
