Well, it's still the hardest stage of a one week race for the whole year. This stage is harder than all the mountain stages of the Giro for example.
It wouldn't be ideal for Tadej if Visma drop his whole team on the second HC climb.
But Visma will probably work there and Pogacar just needs to follow.

If pog wins 5-6 stages its drama all over X/media but when someone else does it its all good. The hypocrisy is incredible to watch. I remember last year when Armstrong and Hincapie almost cry that he didnt give Jorgerson the stage win.
You won't see all those Twitter influencers crying either.
Unfortunately, many fans are swayed by these people, and their opinions are in line with what they say.

Nationality also plays a role. Pedersen is Danish. Like when Remco won Liège with a solo and it wasn't boring.

At least Pogacar wins with panache. Perdersen will win 5 bunch sprints. There is nothing more dreadful than this start of Giro, specially when the route was decent.

Some cyclists are also very hypocritical. Will Bardet ask Pedersen to let the breaks win
as he did last year?

Sprinters can win as many stages as they want. Cipollini won nine stages in a Giro, and no rider came out crying like Bardet because they weren't allowed to win.

Every race wants to have Pogacar but he is bad for this sport. Can't wait to see him on Angliru!

He still hasn't confirmed Vuelta.

Will the World Championships definitely be in Rwanda? If he wins Tour and WC is in Rwanda, I don't think he'll go to the Vuelta.

I'm already thinking about a certain rider from Slovenia winning in Paris while wearing the yellow jersey

Remco's Slovenian? He kicked everyone's a*s on this course, save for a dogged Jorgenson who had to work way too much to be there.

Yeah, I know. Remco is the best. He is a former TdF winner and won all 5 monuments too. Best cyclist ever!
Meanwhile the real Remco was getting his a$$ kicked in the Ardennes by a random Slovenian

Can’t fault Guillen for trying to hype the showdown in Spain into a reality.

Would be great to see them both there.

Wonder how Remco became a WC
The Olympics were in 2024. Check out the results of Remco vs. Pogacar in 2024.
Pogacar won every races against Remco, and with a lot of difference.

This reminds me the preview of the Liège . They were supposed to be evenly tied.

You a are assuming that Remco would´ve kicked Pogacar when all year it was the other way around.

Yeah it's not like Evenepoel only just started riding his bike in February...

Aside from all the races he won, look at the TDF gravel stage. Remco attacks and Pogacar catches him without any problems. With Vingegaard on his wheel, he didn't even need his help to catch him.
And at the end of the stage, if it weren't for Jorgenson, Remco would´ve lost time.

Anyway, my comment was directed at another answer.

Pogacar is more likely to arrive in Paris wearing yellow than Remco. This is an objective opinion. Because, besides, if Pogacar doesn't arrive in Paris wearing yellow, Vingegaard will. Remco has two riders ahead of him in the TDF, Pogacar could only have one.
Barring accidents, the TDF is historically a battle between two riders. The third-place finisher is always a step below. And here we were talking about winning in yellow on that stage. Remco first needs to prove he's the first alternative to the winner. For now, he's a podium rider.
