The Olympics were in 2024. Check out the results of Remco vs. Pogacar in 2024.
Pogacar won every races against Remco, and with a lot of difference.

This reminds me the preview of the Liège . They were supposed to be evenly tied.

You a are assuming that Remco would´ve kicked Pogacar when all year it was the other way around.
Reasonable people know Pogacar is on another level compared to Remco but Remco is a very good classicomano too. His WCRR win and ORR win were very impressive. He attacked and surprised everyone in both occasions and for me this what is more impressive in champions like Remco, Nibali, etc. They are killers, they attack in the right moment.

I'm not saying this, but when we're talking about Pogacar's chances of winning in Paris in yellow, they can't say that Remco kicked allthem in Paris, as if Pogacar had also been one of them.

In any case, this isn't about belittling Remco. Here we saw that from Amstel, the one who was belittling was Pogacar. He was going to lose in Liège, and he wasn't that superior. Doing the Giro-Tour is the easiest thing to do, which is why Roglic will do it. The last pages of this thread revolve around undervaluing his achievements.
And in other thread, it's directly that he wouldn't have won the 2020 and 2021 TDF according to certain hypotheses
Some riders should´ve won what they didn't, and Pogacar shouldn't have won what he did.

Context is always very important. Remco destroyed everyone there however he was lucky that his teammates Wout was strong enough to follow MVP. If not, MVP would probably win.
Remco will also have more difficulty to win in next WC races. Wout is fading and will no longer be able to play the numbers card. However, Belgium is very strong and young guys like Nys, Eetvelt can always step up.

On that course Remco beat everyone that showed up. First rule of racing: beat those that compete.
Regarding a final stage of the Tour that includes that course; I was half joking but 3 pages later folks are still seriously debating.
Realistically at this point Remco hasn't shown performance levels to project him onto the TdF podium. He may get there but not showing it now. If he is in the Tour to the end and not in contention for a podium place why wouldn't he save up for that final stage and go nuclear? What major contender will risk their final podium place to chase on those sections? I can see a final stage like that finish in many groups.

What would better reclaim some of Paris' glory more than Remco taking it again?

No one will let him gain a lot of time. Group 2 syndrome is rare in stage racing. We get more in classics.

Pogacar was stronger in 2022 but Remco beat him. Being smart is also a quality and Remco is smarter than Pogacar IMHO.

Yes it is true but I meant to say 2022 Pogi has nothing to do with today Pogi

And that he was much more vulnerable to a lot of people. Even GdL back in 2022 he won by outsprinting Enric Mas. And he lost Del Emilia to Mas.

This is the highest level of baits when people say Remco is close to Pogi. Let Remco atleast win 1 WorldTour level race this season before saying things like that :grimacing:

Atleast we can respect Remco for trying compared to the fisherman because losing humiliatingly hurts your image.

Judging by his last race against Pog. Not really.

It's just crazy. We read things like Remco was fading in the last week (due to a bad preparation), and this was the reason he lost so much time in the last TT. 2 weeks later he was doing the Olympic double, showing his best shape ever. This incoherence kills me.

Fisherman is a respectful opponent and we just need 3 weeks until we see both in Dauphiné/Tour/Vuelta. 3 months of the best rivalry of all times.

Yesssiirr hopefully both are at their peak physically and mentally ...

I want to see some Contador/Rasmussen action
