Pogi is no longer competing with peers. Hes competing against Merckx. Against possible.
He's like a pioneer himalayan mountaineer, exploring the limits of human experience. You can see it in his interviews, the change. In 2024, mid-Giro, he was already racing the Tour. On Isola2k slopes, he was already preparing the 100k WC attack.
He's not targetting the yellow jersey itself, he's targetting the big picture, the history books.
Looking past the trees, he's become the forest.

MvDP in his real biggest "problem". Remco is amazing time trialist but Pogi wouldn't win ITTs anyway even without Remco(i mean WCs and on OG). Vingegard took 2 TdF but he is beatable. MvDP on the other hand is still the best on MSR and P-R.

With VDP so exhausted tomorrow he could win the stage.

If VDP had taken the 2-minute advantage today, Pogacar would have been out of the podium until the rest day, but with 1 second and seeing VDP so exhausted, it's going to be complicated.

He´ll have to make the podium but the weekend UAE won't even have to control, sprinter´s teams will do it.
