This is the dark side of the Tour unfortunately. Almeida is a crucial mountain dom but if he's gone Pogi will have to count on Yates and Visma mountain train.

If Yates is okay they may not need him even on Hautacam. There's 8 days to "rest" and recover a bit.

Chapeau to a 2nd stage win in this Tour for Pog. Bided his time in the sprint and without MVDP, he was simply the fastest.

Hopefully, it was only just road rash for Almeida and no broken bones. Sucks that he's out of GC but if he recovers, he can fully go all out for Pogi in the mountains.

I want to be optimistic, if he recovers he will be crucial, even more than expected initially because now he's out of GC so he can fully focus on helping pog and he can rest in many stages during week 2 and 3

He was helping Pogacar even if he was in contention for a podium. This crash is not good by any means.

I would prefer him to recover until Superbagneres. It's 8 days, very possible without major injuries.
