Since Mohoric isn't there, I believe it will be something like this:
Pogi
Rogla
Novak
Tratnik
Mezgec
Govekar
Glivar
Primozic
Zumer

This roster is laughable for Worlds. We compare this with big nations like Spain, Belgium, Australia, Netherlands and it's laughable. How this Nation had 2 riders like Pogacar and Roglic?
Last year, the lineup was like that, but with Tratnik well.

It will be even more valuable if Pogacar cam to win more than one World Championship with a minor national team, like Sagan.

Merckx won three world championships at a time when more than a third of professional cyclists were Belgian. And among the top professionals, almost all the best were Belgian, with a few Dutch and French.

Tour team should see a complete overhaul

Pog
Yates (Majka role, and please dont screw it up by overracing him)
Almeida or Toro depending on who does the Giro (I'd prefer Del Toro doing Tour, and Almeida leading the Giro). Maybe you bring both do, Almeida could easily do 2 GTs back to back.
Wellens is the safest card on the roster
Narvaez, very close to Wellens status

Thats the core. Lets say you only bring one of Toro/Almeida:
Vine, pure climbing dom alá Poels/Kuss
Vermeersch for positioning with Wellens
Last one could be either Bjerg, Politt, Soler, Sivakov, Mcnulty, Arrieta or Baroncini. Would rather not see the old guard, I like Baroncini, but he does the same as Florian I think. I think Bjerg is always a nice balance who can do it all pretty well, and theres a TTT.

So:
Pog
Yates
Del Toro
Vine
Wellens
Narvaez
Vermeersch
Bjerg

I think is the most balanced all well rounded roster. But depends on the route, maybe you dont need Vermeesch or a similar rider like that when you have Wellens. But the 2024 was really bad IMO, and Soler and Sivakov was of no use. Politt as well. You should probably bring McNulty then instead of Veermersch, that would be a team of a team, but would solely rely on Wellens for positioning again.
this would be a great team, especially if vine is 100% committed to pogacar (which I doubt). It would be a super strong team both for the mountains and the TTT. But I doubt it will be like this. For some reason Soler, Politt and Sivakov are always selected, probably because they are good for the morale of the group even if they are not the best option

Sivakov is really good when in shape. The same for Politt.
People are overreacting, UAE looked weak because Almeida was missing in the mountains.

Any source confirming that? I think that the Slovenian head coach still expects Mohoric to be there.

Mohoric almost never goes. He didn't go to Australia, he didn't go to Glasgow, which was a more suitable route for him. He didn't go to Zurich. I doubt he'll go to such a tough WC.

By the way, what's the weather like in Rwanda around this time of year? Is it too humid? I think riders like Carapaz will adapt really well to the climate and altitude.

He didn't go to Zurich because he crashed.

I know sivakov can be good but physically vine is better if he's committed to the leader, he's a great climber and would be very good for the TTT if he's in shape

He didn't have it mentally to ride the Vuelta so I'm not sure about it. They decided to go for WC double instead of risking cracking at some point.
Last year he did two GTs. If he'd had his mind ready, he'd have been unbeatable on this route.
Pogacar is mentally prepared as soon as he ison road in competition.

Completely different story to last year.
Don't even compare the Giro 2024 to anything. His main rival was Dani Martinez who is not a top 20 GC rider.
What are we talking here?
Pogacar was focused on classics this year. That's why his level was lower in the TDF than in 2024 as well.
As I said he probably would have won this Vuelta but the fight would have been much closer than in the Tour.

I don't think so. This route is tailormade for punchy climbers. Today was the first real test, until Angliru, I'm pretty sure Pogacar would have 3 or 4 stage wins and a 45 seconds advantage to Jonas.

Exactly. After heavy spring campaign and the Tour he was tired. With a light spring I think Pogacar would've smashed this Vuelta.

And if I told you he was better than Pogacar?
No. Pogacar won Lunigina (junior) Friuli Venezia, Course de la Paix, and Avenir. Avenir with Slovenia, but they were in Ljubljana that season. Podium at the European Championships, top10 WC and 4th in Tour Eslovenia.
Pogacar's results were in more important races in that categories. Not just the Avenir, Lunigina, Course la Paix, or Venezia, also are most important stage races.

In 2018, Primozic was almost 2,000 places behind Pogcar in the ranking. In 2017, he was 1,900 places behind. Definitely not
