If Vinge wins the Giro as well, his palmeres will be better than Pogs.
Not sure how you can make that claim? Pogacar has already won 5 Grand Tours including 4 TdF's, defeating Jonas directly in the last two. And then add one day races, monuments and world champs.

There is no comparison in their palmares because Pogacar is a far more versatile rider - even came close to winning Paris–Roubaix! Then if you also add podium finishes in grand tours it is even worse.

@Lequack is saying Vingegaard will have a better palmares if he wins the Giro.
That means this Vuelta has been the equivalent of two Tours, one World Championship, eight Monuments, more stages in the TDF, and other races.

I didn't know we were witnessing history in this Vuelta  . It's worth more than all of that. Because that's the only thing Vingegaard have compared to Pogacar.

By the way, Pogacar also won three stages in his Vuelta debut. I don't even want to think how many he´d have won this year with his current experience.

Visma made 1-2-3 in the European Champioinship

I don't think what you're saying will happen. UAE riders are almost always disappointing in GT (gc), Monuments, and World Championships.
Del Toro might be, and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get as good a result as expected. The World Championships are much tougher than any one-day race he's done, and he struggled in San Sebastian

.Aside from Pogacar and Del Toro, I don't see three other UAE riders in the top 5.
Ayuso? Maybe. But he´s no longer a UAE rider :tearsofjoy:. And all of his performances at that distance have been disappointing. But we´ll consider him.
What other two?

But the comments are definitely different. If Pogacar were Vingegaard today and the second his domestique, the forum would be on fire
Del Toro might come up with the ride of his life to punctuate his storybook first 2 years but a long shot.
Del Toro also showing lack of depth at pro level ...he is definitely flying with days of rest, but riders with years of kilometers in the training bank are likely in the advantage. Pogacar shows over and over that he can go deep for weeks at a time and when races are really really demanding around 200k mark he has reserves. Del Toro like others have the benefit of nobody expecting them to contest Tadej at his best.. Del Toro also benefiting by being on same team and structure not having two riders ever racing against each other for the race win. I don't think that will be much different in Kigali ..unless Del Toro feels fantastic he is going to work for and with Pogacar ..shame that Richard Carapaz appears to be sitting it out. Del Toro looks like a nervous school boy in Richard's presence, Del Toro will work as hard as possible to never let Carapaz in front of him regardless of circumstances.
If Pogacar has some Canadian hangover Del Toro will work for him almost guaranteed.

Lequack,I hope you are referring to GTs (only). If you are saying overall (counting WC and monuments), it's a ridiculous take.

Even when it comes to GTs it's a ridiculous take, two more Giro wins won't help Vingo in this regards.
Tour > Giro and Tour > Vuelta so 4TdF + 1 Giro > 2TdF + 1 Vuelta + 2 Giros

WCRR 2026 will be similar to GP Montreal. Pogacar will be the hot favorite again.
Not so hot favorite. Still 1st favorite but not such obvious one like for Rwanda and 2027. Only end of the route seems like GP Montreal. With UAE that is different than with Slovenia. Next year he will 100% do Vuelta. He can't risk betting all on WC like this year.

His agent speaks about why Pogacar was burnt out at the end of the Tour. As expected, heavy spring schedule and no time to rest at home (training camps straight after Liege) were the reason. He needs a lighter schedule next year to do the Vuelta: UAE, Amstel and maybe Fleche should be dropped from his calendar first. Still, cobbles monuments complicate things as this combo is by far the most difficult. As long as he does it he may feel like "screw the Vuelta" every August.

You won't convince me UAE is even a stressor. The flat stages are so easy you're probably detraining if you're a top level professional

It's about starting the season later (without going far away).
Form timing I think is more about training volume timing than racing. It takes a lot of effort and load to be as good as he is in the spring. If you lighten the schedule do you reach the same level in the monuments?

Simplest cut is probably just cut Ardennes altogether.

I think Flandres+Roubaix double is the biggest problem as his margin is smaller there and he needs absolutely top form. Without it Tour + Vuelta double would be more manageable. Cutting Amstel + Fleche is the simplest improvement. Mental aspect seems as important as physical, that's why starting the season later and dropping travel to UAE.
