Admittedly I simply misremember the gap from last year. It felt like a lot more because once he attacked the race was over, but alright.

Basically I expect him to win in similar fashion to last year.
He was chatting with fans, signing autographs and doing wheelies on his victory lap last year. Well, almost.

Yes. Maertens.

And do u know that he crashed out of the giro that year while wearing pink. And not sure if he raced again that year.

When people state emphatically that Cav was the GOAT sprinter I ROTFFLOL every time. Maertens was the absolute GOAT for sprinting. He could also crush an ITT and won the 1976 worlds from a two-man break.

He won 13 stages in the Vuelta and then went to the Giro fto win seven stages. Outrageous performance!

Is Novak the one who's been dropped with Philipsen?
He hasn't been seen at all during Vuelta. His shape is worrying for the WC

And 7 of 11 before crashing out. So he was 20 out of 30 possible stages between Vuelta and Giro that year. And Giro followed the Vuelta by only 5 days.

However, I stand corrected, he was in 2nd on GC when he crashed. 16 secs behind Moser at the time.

Yesterday he had an underwhelming performance IMO. He was pretty cooked after his attack and his main strenght is how he "recycles lactate" which gives him an unique ability to attack over and over again. Yesterday, he never recovered from his attack.

Last year, he couldn't dropped off De Lie either; De Lie was in worse shape.

Let's wait until tomorrow.

In any case, the change in training for the time trial may have had an impact.
And he doesn't want to waste too much energy either because he has a time trial in a few days.

This year, he couldn't drop 4 riders

Tomorrow alarms will ring if he doesn't drop everyone.

Teddy's attack on a 1.8 km@8% climb after 4000+ meters of climbing should be the race-defining moment. If he doesn't drop everyone then something is off and his post-Tour words were an early warning.

After Montreal there are 4 races and if he wins 3 of them he would have again brilliant season. Next week he has TT so i still think that should impact his preparation and would read to much if he doesn't win Montreal.

He’s already had a brilliant season. He is favored to win 4 of his next 6 races. And possibly the other 2.

His training numbers were good but he never posted a 6 hours ride so I don't know how good he really is.

…just wait for the Worlds. Could be five UAEs in top 5. That will be fun.
Visma made 1-2-3 in the European Champioinship

I don't think what you're saying will happen. UAE riders are almost always disappointing in GT (gc), Monuments, and World Championships.
Del Toro might be, and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get as good a result as expected. The World Championships are much tougher than any one-day race he's done, and he struggled in San Sebastian

.Aside from Pogacar and Del Toro, I don't see three other UAE riders in the top 5.
Ayuso? Maybe. But he´s no longer a UAE rider :tearsofjoy:. And all of his performances at that distance have been disappointing. But we´ll consider him.
What other two?

But the comments are definitely different. If Pogacar were Vingegaard today and the second his domestique, the forum would be on fire
