Im looking at vdp and van aart muching like its no tommorow and pog is just driving,lmaoo.whats wrong with him.
Paris-Roubaix´ thread was unbearable, five hours of crying. Some were happy for Wout, others wanted above all else for the Slovenian not to win.. It was all too much.
And in this thread, some Pogacar fans are now crying because he's not going to win the Tour. He's finished, just like Froome.
Now they see it clearly, but 2 hours ago only I and two other people were saying that Van Aert was the favorite in that sprint.

Felt this was similar to Paris last year where Pog tired himself chasing down Jorgensen attacks - this time the puncture and forcing on the tough sectors weakened him enabling Wout to take advantage
It's always like this. The hate for Pogacar is so big that sometimes we need to ignore the forum
Not sure if I watched a different race. He was super strong. Just had bad luck. Under similar circumstances past greats finished outside the top 20. And Pog still finished second.
Only real problem was how UAE/Pog handled the chase. I get that he wanted to make it back to the front before Arensberg but it took a lot out of him and maybe it would have been smarter to wait for his teammates (at least Politt). Looked like he went to deep and never really recovered afterwards.

Great ride and fight but sometimes it’s not your day.
The talks of looking work are the same that occurred in 2024 and 2025. He’s riding at a great level and overcoming adversity.

They will of course analyze things and look at things that can be tweaked.
Last year he made a mistake in a corner.
Now he sprinted for the win, but was too gassed after some trouble here and there.
It is all about learning from mistakes and try again. Two times second is a great achievement in two attempts.

I saw Van Aert constantly pulling a gap on Pog when he pulled hard and Pog really didn't look good. At first I thought Pog was just biding his time but apparently not. And the gap to the group behind was really small. It's worth mentioning because VdP put exponentially more power into his chase than Pog had to after his own mechanical so I don't buy the "he spent too many bullets chasing" when others had all sorts of problems too.
I mean let's face it, i.e. in a major race this is the worse showing of Pog in a long time. That's because his level has been otherwordly. Today he looked almost like 2023 Pog again.
And before someone says "it's because there's no climbs". No. It's about power. Last year he looked better relative the rest of the field.
Where was vermersch after Arenberg?
Had he more bad luck than van der poel at Arenberg? I havent seen him after this.
They should have send him back before. Pogacar had to do all the work alone.
Polit and Bjerg should have send back ealier too.

Pogacar was good today. To ride more than 20 km behind the peleton after his mechanical was not helpful.
Van Aert did pull much less than Pogacar. So he lost a lot of power in the last 50 km.
And to loose the sprint against him is not a desaster.
Without the mechanical he would have won today, i think.
But at the end everbody had bad luck today.
So congrats to van aert.

Florian crashed and limped off in Arenberg. He could have been of service later otherwise, like Laporte for Van Aert.
Thats why he also didnt drop back earlier and waited in the front. There was still such a long distance to go.
I think Molano, Morgado, Politt, Bjerg and Florian did some good work. They will analyze if it was the right approach in the prep for another attempt down the line.

The commentators on where I watched said that Vermeersch may have crashed on Arenberg. Otherwise, I don't see a reason for him to not have made it to the eventual MVDP group.

I'm already expecting the "Oh Jonas is gonna dominate Pogi at the Tour" if he doesn't immediately drop Seixas on Redoute.
Personally I'm not panicking.
I just feel scammed. I was told of a new Pogacar power level and instead we got this TEMU version.
Or maybe he had nightmares and couldn't sleep well after watching Itzulia?
This. There are some really weird takes on this forum! Van Aert was really strong today, and he was always going to be the favourite to win in a sprint because he's by far the better sprinter. I also think that chase on the Shimano bike would have taken a lot out of Pogacar, and then having another puncture and chase would not have helped either. I don't know why people are freaking out like it's suddenly game over for him.
To be honest, I have more respect for him the more I think about it. Roubaix isn't his natural terrain, he doesn't have to ride it. In some ways I'm glad he didn't win, because it means he'll come back next year and I do think it's one of those rare races where his presence actually makes things more exciting.
