He goes with Urska to altitude a few times a year so he was probably always thinking about going, it's not like she just randomly decided to go to altitude it was before her two biggest races. He also stayed there much longer than she did because she was already racing.

He won't, he just won the Vuelta has won Liege and is known to be also good at 1-day races in general. Roglic get's a free role and maybe even co-leadership.

He should definitely have a free role to a point but Roglic’s results in one day races does not justify ‘co-leadership’. Of course the race could play into his hands and he would be a useful foil. Albeit if I were Slovenia and wanted best chance of winning you go all in on Pog.

Roglic' main use to Pogacar I think is if Pogacar is out of positino when Evenepoel attacks, or when Pogacar and Evenepoel get away and simply get caught because Evenepoel refuses to pull with Pogacar. Both are unlikely scenarios.

Pogacar may need horse power to chase a strong breakaway and control the race. This is where Rogla could be helpful as well but I don't think he will do it because of his (probable) free role. This is a situation when bringing two leaders can backfire for Slovenia.

I read somewhere that you need as least 3 weeks of altitude tranning for it to make sense.

I’ve seen 2 weeks to get the full benefit. But I doubt the increase in HCT from hypoxia effect is zero percent after 13 days and then suddenly 5% the next day because it’s been 14 days.

Generally depends on race situation, if possible they can save all strong matches for the finale. If it's necessarily to chase down a strong breakaway then they will have to tell some strong guys to chase. If 3 guys are protected they can lose big time due to lack of chasing horse power. It's not that those 3 guys are equally good, there's no doubt who's the strongest rider in the team.

No time to rest after a huge effort. Remco will need to set his own pace and pray to catch Pogacar 10 km after. If he can't catch Pogacar before the descent, it's game over.

Every time Roglic was in a race where a teammate had a higher chance of winning he has worked for that teammate.

I don't recall him working for Pog during Olympic RR in 2021.

Mohoric already stated he will work for the team as they want first rainbow jersey for Slovenia. Team will have several different scenarios but I would never doubt his willingness to sacrifice himself for his captain(s).

Roglic has too much reputation to just work for Pogacar and I understand that, however the best chance for a gold is clearly to put all eggs in one basket and that basket is Pogacar. Pogacar is by far the biggest favourite to win in Zurich.

You could also use him within the peloton to wheel suck Remco as psychological warfare.
