yes while its true everyone else trying solo in the wind for 90 km at that speed it would be a tactic to laugh about its just cause its him and he strong enough thats what I mean a showcase of total domination like no other.

He basically put the entire belgian team and Holland on their knees then their captains in reality.
It was on Evenepoel and MVdP to respond when and if Pog would attack. They was caught off guard. Because relying on the helpers to bring him back is a mistake. It just delays the reaction and effort that was needed from them earlier.

Tratnik was placed and paced perfectly.

Then panic for Belgium as they burn through their team quick and you are left with a frustrated Remco and others not cooperating.

Ladies and gents, Tadej Pogacar!

I think it was Novak who did a massive pull before Pogs attack?

I frankly didnt see much of Roglic here except for being right behind the other teammates.

Other guys like Grovekar and Primozic did more work. From what I saw, at least. Novak and then ultimately Tratnik.
Not to mention the Italian interlude until Tadej dropped him. All of those elements aided the win; it's not like he didn't take some moments to reestablish his strategy to the end. Lots of legs, missed opportunities and wasted efforts by the other principals.

100% agree, this comparision between remco and goat have to end, its crazy
Its hopeful thinking nothing else and theres a very few fans doing that for another one too its w.e at this stage :tearsofjoy:.

But reality is its not even remotely close like weve seen now the numbers have said it too and the eyes never lies its very very big difference which was showcased beyond a doubt to everyone and I aknowledge and like Evenepoel at the same time too its not hard to do he is a fanstastic rider, historically good even, its just Pogacar - but he is better than anyone else in the history too theres no shame in that.

An element of luck can mean that MVP doesn't start MSR one year.
The chance increases. MVDP timed his attack perfectly in 2023. This year he was the one to close down Pog and held it together. Sacrificing himself, for his teammate.

Without MVDP. Who is able to respond to the attack and is able to hold it together? Because if you give Pog a gap he will be gone. In the right group he may even win the sprint.

MSR (alongside Roubaix if he tries) will be his biggest challenge. Not easy to drop for good all those fast and well-descending guys on a climb like Poggio. He may need a bit of luck there, good circumstances or something like that.
If he can hold off an elite field like this while essentially solo for the vast majority of 2 hours 15 minutes then maybe the strategy of team drilling the Capi at max speed then going from the bottom of the Cipressa then into TT mode is no longer just a pipe dream.

MVP is pretty much Pogi's boogie man in MSR. He's faster at the finish, descending better and even better uphill in this case (insane acceleration on short/shallow climbs). But every year is different and there will be chances in the future.
