I was surprised cause he tried hard a few times and couldn't drop them. I think he was the strongest but margins were small up there. As for the future Vingegaard may turn out to be one of Pogi's greatest rivals in years to come (this generation just keeps delivering, there are also guys like Bernal and Evenepoel).

Evenepoel... he never show that can do a good GC in grand Tour... i will first see that he can win Paris Nice, Tirreno, Tour de Suisse or Dauphine. With all respect but Burgos, San Juan and Baloise Belgium Tour...

right! so to call him (Evenepoel) together with Roglic and Bernal as a competitor of pogacar is also ***. because he has not yet been able to prove himself!

But have you seen him ride?

There is a difference between winning like normal riders and destroying fields like Remco does...

He has yet to win a major stage race with a competitive field. Not to mention he has never come even close to beating Pogacar, Roglic or Bernal in any circumstance. Currently there is no real indicator he belongs into that elite group of GC guys…

Yes, there are plenty of indicators.

Oh please no, I really don't want his team to get stronger, I don't want Sky 2.0 mountain trains with Pog taking over in the final few km, it's much better for the race (and us viewers) if the strongest rider doesn't have the strongest team. Last year was bad enough with the TJV train stifling some of the racing.

He still hasn’t delivered an elite climbing performance like the others he was compared to. He may very well have that in him, but it’s not a given thing that he’ll ever climb something like Portet as fast as they did yesterday.

If he doesn't at least we'll get endless rants about how GTs should favor all rounders rather than one trick donkeys

I still think he is clearly the strongest in the peloton (even against Roglic) man to man (in W/kg). The only thing that was against him was his team strenght. This year they showed it's still a problem, but with his plus 5 min lead and being that better than others it's not visable as much. But with their rumoured new signings (Soler, Almeida...) and big budget, in the coming years they could match Ineos and Jumbo-Visma.
Without any misfortune in the coming years I can't see anyone beating him. When you try to find his weak points, you are in trouble. Only one I can think of is extreme heat and that is still unknown really.

So for next years TDF, competitors better hope for extreme heat for all 3 weeks, with no rainy and cold days, combined with Pogi losing some time in echalons. And then others maybe have some chance.:tearsofjoy:
Almeida will be on bora team next year. Soler maybe could be true.
I also don't think that emirates was a strong team on this tour, but pogi doesn't need a great team to win.

It's disrespectful how everybody is forgeting the name of mark padun, the man that did 6.2 w/kg on la plagne, the slovenians will miss the tour 2021 for fear of padun, not Remco!

Well, last year in TdF he didn't look that strong in stages 17-18 (?) then destroyed the TT. This year he doesn't look as strong (like... he didn't drop Vingegaaard and Carapaz despite trying) in stage 17, what will happen today and in Saturday is question mark..
Even in his first Vuelta he was looking weaker in stages 17-18 if I recall correctly.
Guuys, Pog's weakness revealed.

I learned from the Giro that getting outsprinted at the end = dropped

Congrats to Pogi on another victory. Most difficult terrain is behind him so his second TdF victory is almost there. Let's see if he can win the TT making it four stages and beating last TdF's result. He won 3 stages in each GT he has taken part in so far (no slow start, a monster from a get go, wow).
