He wants attention. It's so obvious Merckx is only considered better due to his better palmares, even if it was gained in a much weaker era. For example, monuments were basically disputed by belgians. When we talk about ability, there is no doubt Pogacar is the best ever. If Pogačar wins Giro or Vuelta, Worlds and at least one monument, he should still get the Velo d'Or unless the jury is deliberately against him or Vingegaard wins two GTs in that season.
