Timeline for stage 5 doesn't match up at all.

Unless you're telling me Team DS is like "Take a bag from the soigneur on the right after the next left turn. Marie Blanque coming up, Felix make sure Tadej is on Jumbo's wheel. Tadej, by the way your girlfriend is in the hospital"

According the reports, he found out Urška Žigart had crashed after the stage when he called her & asked about her race: https://www.lefigaro.fr/sports/cycl...it-abandonner-des-la-cinquieme-etape-20230720

« Il m'a appelé après l'arrivée pour me demander comment cela s'était passé et je lui ai dit que je n'avais pas fini», a expliqué Urska Zigart. «Puis il a demandé pourquoi. Il sait que je n'abandonne jamais sans une bonne raison. Il s'est inquiété et m'a dit «Je veux rentrer à la maison». Mais la championne de Slovénie l'a dissuadé de jeter l'éponge. «Tu ne rentres pas chez toi, c'est le Tour», a-t-elle confié.

Do riders even write their own social media posts, or do they just give a few keynotes and delegate it? I'd do the later, cause I couldn't really be bothered to do it, but mabye for some it's a way to calm down and relax a bit after a race/training?
I don't know, but that message sounds a bit too personal to be ghostwritten. Let's hope I'm not wrong.

A nice way to round off a difficult TdF by winning the final tricky mountain stage. He and UAE also secured 2nd and third on the podium.

I am relieved that Pog could bounce back. After losing 7 minutes in the TT and Loze it seemed very possible he could collapse and even abandon today. His Instagram post also suggests he has come to terms with being second best. Good for him.

Any theory he was sick or hurt by the crash or out of form can go to the can imo. You can't do this if that is the case.

Just seems he had a few bad days this Tour, and again one of them came on a high mountain altitude climb with a lot of +40 min climbing. I do not believe this is coincedance. They will have to come up with a different battle plan than the boni-seconds + small explosive differences and try to hold on gimmick.

Would be nice to see him do a Cunego at the Vuelta going for stage wins before the Italian classics and bull sing up more confidence. Would rather see him in that then in Canada again. Could even leave after the first rest day if he’s feeling bad.

With Tour prep being too short I can see Vuelta being possible. Not for stages, but for putting Ayuso in his place before he gets any ideas.
He's not going to the Vuelta.

Also, re his calendar, he won't be at San Sebastian. Instead, he will ride the official European Climbing Championships on Passo del San Gottardo. It's a time trial form, with intervals between starters every 30 seconds.

What even is that?
PS: Found some info here:

The bike, the weather, the time trial, the athlete: these are the elements of the Coupe d'Europe des Grimpeurs Tremola San Gottardo that debuts on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
This time trial will mark a before and after in the history of cycling. It will be the first race with gender prize parity and the first competition without combustion engines. Filming will be done with drones, bikes or electric motorcycles.

The competition:
A road race in the morning as a qualification for the time trial in the afternoon. This time trial will give the best amateurs the opportunity to challenge their favourite cyclists, returning from the Tour and preparing for the Vuelta. For the pros it will be an opportunity to acquire important points in a UCI 1.1S classified competition.

It's a new event organised by the UEC. It was supposed to be held last year in Airolo, Switzerland, but got delayed by a year. It's basically just a MTT with open registration, where one can earn a European kit like Jakobsen (which he'll never wear).

That definitely varies. I think Pog does his own, he is also very funny on Twitter sometimes. It would be quite strange if that was a press officer who did it.

But many riders and sportspeople are not the most literary of people so I think many people do get it done by others.
