Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

You just can't win Sanremo riding this way. The Poggio is just not a climb where you ride everyone off your wheel. Try attacking on the Cipressa and see who follows, try to attack earlier on the Poggio when MvdP isn't glued to your wheel yet, anything. But this just isn't working.
To be fair I think that was the most attentive I have ever seen MVDP be in a big race. Was always in the right position unlike Flanders last year where he burned his team by twice chilling at the back and being caught out by splits in the peloton.

can there be an agreement among the supporters of my hype about Pog? If someone beats Pogacar in the next 4 years in a one-week or grand tour race, ban me immediately so that I can never write a single word again, agreed? 💯😘, I think that's fair 😉 from my side and strong enough to make you imagine what hurricane will soon follow
He made two blistering attacks around the poggio and dragged the team back into position into the cipressa. Covered attacks towards the finish. And outsprinted a large contingent. Definitely gets an A and was quite possibly the strongest in the race. Just wasn’t an enough this year. I wish he’d win it so he can stop riding it lol

and if you knew who @mou is, it wouldn't be good for you, I drew everything for you, added a little of my handwriting and spices to all that, and it's up to you to watch and enjoy the show that follows
Now seriously dude, i believe in your story, i believe on the information you have about Pogacar even if you messed up a bit with the "8.5 w/kg" thing, but i believe in the things you said like the FTP he have and other things. I already said today, that i expect a stronger Pogacar this year, and obviously he will win vuelta catalunya and the Giro( he will not have rivals against him).

Like i said, i believe in your story, i believe you know the data of Pogacar, even if you have a clear bias with pogacar, but everyone of us has a bias with our favourite rider.

Now, i'm going to tell you the other story that you really don't care, because it looks like you live in a bubble/cage. You can know everything about Pogacar, but you don't know for example anything about the data of Remco evenepoel, and how he can improve this year.

And even more important of them all. You don’t know anything about Vingegaard data. This is the main problem of your story. Other problem of your story is thinking the other riders will not also improve this year. Even Thomas is better with 36 years than he was with 32/33.

The peloton is getting faster year by year. Pogacar is not the only one who will get better this year, and i'm going to repeat you again. You don't know Vingegaard data and his physiological parameters, get out of your bubble, Pogacar doesn't ride alone, only Visma knows, and trust they know very well what to do to win the Tour again.

I talked seriously to you this time in the hope you have some real sense, and i hope if you answer me, you can talk to me in a serious and honest way, and not with that BS of an invincible ET who will win everything in the next 4 years.

You should had accepted bruynel invitation. It's a good oportunity for you.

Johan Buyneel legit getting his information from sh*tposters on the Pogacar thread on cyclingnews forum and trying to claim he has 'a source'.

Astounding, couldn't believe what I was hearing, as I'm listening to him speak I'm thinking hang on I've heard all of this information before.
Haha! Bruyneel totally reads this forum. Quoting our guy @mou’s drops nearly word for word

But @mou ’s information is likely good and actual. And yours is just want you wan to believe. They are not the same thing. Talking about Vingo improving does not make it so

The actually 7 best riders of uae for these races would be enough today. At thre Cipressa threre were only one rider, 3 other riders had to come back from the back of the field and were empty after this.
Just make a super hard pace from Cipressa on and he will finish it at the end.

Covi should have just ridden slowly on the front until Hirschi, Del Toro and Wellens had joined him and Pog. Then they could have dropped the hammer. As it was, it was really inefficient because Del Toro had to spend a lot of his energy getting to the front and Hirschi never got there.

The difference is that Sagan was also on paper the fastest of those who could expect to get over the Poggio in the front.

Yup. Pogi lacks an x-factor in MSR. His uphill explosivity is great but on such a shallow climb MVP can match or outpunch him. His descending is not bad in absolute terms but it's average compared to top MSR contenders. His sprinting is exceptional among stage racers but obviously not the best vs big boys. Winning MSR will be hard, even if he has a few seconds of advantage on the top of Poggio. After failing time and again one year he might succeed though. I'm sure he will race it many more times.
